Any Smallville fans out there? I love this show, though I don't often to get to watch it (the new episodes, anyway), my mother is addicted to Survivor and we don't have TIVO.
I do own Season 1 and 2 on DVD though.
So....anyone else like it?
(hey, look at that! Started my very first thread here ever! Woo hoo!)

Heh. Unfortunately, this girl has never learned how to make her VCR record one channel while watching another. Also, mine's broken, at least the recording function. Can still watch stuff though, so that's good.
Nice to see there are other Smallville fans who like manga/anime as well. :D

I used to watch Smallville all the time when it first aired. I think I've begun to lose interest, though. However, there was one particular episode that aired recently that somewhat rekindled my interest. ;)

Whenever the storyline starts getting good, they change it. And its taken soooo, soooo long for the story to get anywhere.
Overall it isn't a bad show though.

I still need Season 3 first! I've seen some eppys of Season 3 (and a few of Season 4). I have Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD. My tax refund has so been earmarked for Season 3 though. I've been shopping around, trying to find the best price.
So, who is everyone's fave character on Smallville? Mine is Clark. Just gotta love the farmboy!

Same here. I have no access to anything. lol
It's kinda sad,really. =___=;;
I love Clark, Chloe, and Lana. :D
But, the whole love thing between Clark and Lana is making me mad. It's been like that foreverrr. It can't go on like that or else a lot of people'll lose interest fast.

Here you go xdeatheberry:
Clark and Lana break up in Season 5. At the end of the episode "Hypnotic". This is after he proposes to her and then she dies and then Clark travels back in time and saves her in the 100th episode "Reckoning". So yay the Clana is over!
Hey it worked! Thanks Arcademan!

Quick "spoiler ish" Question. Is the guy "Spike from Buffy", Braniac? And I hope they add Bruce Wayne into the mix of Smallville. I was never a Superman fan but I'm always a Batman fan. It would be awesome to see Bruce Wayne stop by Metropolis.
Oh and is Metallo ever going to show up?
Arcademan
04-13-2006, 06:53 PM
Yes, that was James Marsters from Buffy and Angel fame and he was using his real voice in Smallville instead of that heavy English accent he was using as Spike :)
No Bruce Wayne but we already had Aquaman and Flash on the series ;)

Niice. Braniac is a nice addition toward the Smallville series.
Aw. No Bruce Wayne? That sucks. I have seen the Aquaman (missed out on the flash episode) and wasn't really impressed with it. I mean I somewhat liked Aquaman (especially in the comics where they had the Sub Diego part), but not enough to go crazy over for him. *sigh* I just hope the Superman Returns movie is good. I'll be seeing it >_>

For those not in the know, Aquaman will have a series of his own next season and the Flash episode was great. They used the Bart (Impulse/Kid Flash) Allen version but he was carrying fake IDs naming the identites of all the other DC Comics Flashes.

Unfortunately we will never see Bruce on Smallville. It looked pretty likely before Batman Begins came out but then DC and Warner decided "not to mix the franchises". So now there's pretty much no way he'll be there. Which is a shame because everyone wants it and it would be so cool! (Even Tom Welling said he would love to see it!)
As for Metallo, I don't think we'll see that. I would have said not for sure last year before Brainiac, saying that he's a Superman villian and we don't see Superman villians on Smallville but now that Brainiac has shown up, all bets are off. So maybe.
I dunno. Metallo's big thing is having GreenK in his chest and we've already done the Kryptonite thing to death.
BTW, anyone watch Fragile the other night? Tom Welling directed it.

Well, not like we'll see Metallo right away. We might see his actual self as John Corben. It would be nice to see another villain appear in Smallville. I mean, not to rush into Metallo thin right away but a cameo would be nice at first and go on from there.
And you're right. After Brainiac showing up, anything can happen in the DCU universe. Well the Superman universe I mean. Not like we're going to see Wonder Woman or the Green Lantern. Pfft.

Didn't think of that. Seeing John Corben woud be ok. Didn't he use to work for Star Labs? Maybe he could work for Luthorcorp or something and then quit,
Yah, we'll never see Diana or any of the GLs, though I would love to! I've always thought it would be cool for Hal to drop by. Even a cameo.
Still, if htey are bringing in "superman" stuff there's a chance for more (but you never know what they are going to change--example, Mxy).

So Season 5 is over now. What did everyone think? Of the finale of the season, of the cliffhanger, whatever.
I loved Vessel. I thought it was an excellent episode. The confrontations, the KISS, the ending, all were great.
Now it's about a 5 month wait to find out what happens next, though!!!

My wife and I love Smallville! We own the first 3 seasons on dvd. We will buy number 4 here in the near future.:cool: I heard that Fine is Brainaic. I wonder if this is true. Originally, they had only planned to go 5 seasons. I wonder what they are going to do now.

The end of this season most particularly is what has been pulling me back in. Initially, I was just watching it because it came on before CSI and I had nothing better to do. Now I'm watching because I actually want to know what happens next. And allow me to say that I hate cliffhangers. Argh. It never fails.

Um, you're saying you hate Smallville and you want me to tell you what makes the show worth watching?
Well, how about:
the acting--Michael Rosenbaum, John Glover and Tom Welling in particular;
the story--the amazing journey of hte world's greatest superhero;
the plot---ok, sometimes it can get silly but most of the time it is interesting;
the drama and action--the season finale gave us plenty of both;
the surprises--as shown in the spoilers above about Clark (now THAT I didn't see coming!)...
and if that's not enough, how about the eye candy? THe guys are gorgeous (for us girls), the girls are gorgeous (for the guys) and the sets are beautiful. It's a lovely show to look at.
That make you want to give it another shot?

That is going by the history of Superman as told by John Byrne and DC Comics after the Crisis of Infinite Earth. Continuity of the TV series is not bound by the continuity of the comic book, as we already know by now ;)

I don't think Lana is dead. She wanted to leave Lex very badly, and she knew that any possible road she could have taken would have been dangerous for both her and Clark. I think she faked her own death and framed Lex for it to get him out of her life for a while and to keep Clark from finding her. It would have been a good way to keep everyone from following her so she could vanish easier. As far as Chloe being dead, I don't know on this one. She may have really sacrificed herself to save Lois. We'll just have to wait until September/October to see.

They do this to me every time, you know? Every time I seriously think about dropping Smallville (was very much thinking about not coming back for Season 7) they go and do something like the Season Finale--and especially the last ten minutes or so--and I get drawn back in again!
Yeah, I am pretty sure Lana's not dead either. I mean, it was SO obvious that she just jumped into that truck as it went by and set the bomb herself or something. She was the one who said she had to disappear for a while and what better way than 'dying'. (She borrowed a page from Chloe's book! Remember Covenant?)
I'm also pretty sure that Chloe isn't dead either--they'll find a way to bring her back since Allison is so dearly loved by SV fans.
But the Bizarro thing was the best! 2 Clarks and one was flying? Cool!
And once again SV shows that they do cliffhangers best.
