Ideas on how to make..

I really needed some ideas or suggestions on how to put together a hat for kuromi or my melody?

My friend and I are planning on making a cute EGL themed version of my melody and Kuromi.
I have pictures so please don't be afraid to give any suggestions. XD I need plenty<3

I'm planning on having my melody's ears straight up but, what should I do to make them stand?
Any pros have any ideas on how to help? ;]

for a school volley ball game, my friends did a hello kitty group, and i was my melody. i made the ears kind of ghetto style, but still, i was only going to wear them for like an hour or so...any who, this is how i made them.
i took a head band, wire (around 14 gauge should be fine), duck tape, pink fabric and red ribbion
i figured out where on my head i wated the ears to be and marked the head band w/ a sharpie. then i took the wire and made a rough out line of the ear w/ some more left on the ends. i bend the extra wire on the ends of the ears and ducktaped them to the head band. next i out lined the ears w/ penciel on the fabric and then added an extra inch for seams. i folded under the seams and then glued the two side of the pink fabric on the ear (do the same for the other ear) then i covered over the ducktape and head band w/ red ribbion. you may trying to add her hoodie part under the ears (like make a hole for the ears to slip throu...is there some thing ya don't get or i missed (it late, and i want to go to bed)...^_^;;
