Do you guys listen to Ayumi's songs???
I believe she sing's the 3rd ending song for InuYasha for those who have heared it.
The ending song was called "Dearest."

I personally think her songs are quite nice!

I'm missing something here, but Ayumi Hamasaki looks the same! In the 'before' picture, she just doesn't have her eyes open properly, that's probably why they look small. Everyone's eyes go smaller when they smile. But if you look at the width of the eyes of the 'before' picture, it's kinda wide. And about Ayumi's nose, when you see her smile her nose looks relatively the same as the 'before' picture . . . actually she may have had the nose job. The lips . . . I dunno.

I hope I don't get attacked for this but...what's the big deal about Ayumi? I think her lyrics are nice, but I actually think her voice is quite annoying. I downloaded 3 of her songs to see what all the fuss was about, but couldn't listen to any of them for long, cause my ears started bleeding. Her voice is very squeaky, and I hate the way it breaks sharply like she can't carry the note or something.

This is my opinion so don't crucify me for it, because I know a lot of people like her. But me, I'm a fan of Hikaru Utada, Mikuni Shimokawa, and Crystal Kay (She's new and kinda...J-R&B. She sings the ending theme for Full Metal Alchemist called "Motherland.")

I love Ayumi Hamasaki (not as much as Utada, but hey, that's just me). I love the fact that it's like rock and techno all combined... and she's the only japanese singer who I can listen to in the car without my dad telling me to put in his 'Journey' CD.

Yeah I agree her voice is squeaky, but in some ways, that's what makes her songs sound good. I mean imagine Utada singing her songs . . . it probably wouldn't have the same effect.
The first Ayumi song i heard was 'To Be' and boy does he squeak in that one. At first I thought she was some crappy singer but then I listened to some fo her more upbeat songs and you end up overlooking her squeakiness.

I love Ayumi Hamasaki. I love her lyrics and I love her music. Her eyes look a little different but that could just be due to growing up. She was fairly young in that pic.

And Im pretty sure her nose and lips are real. The only thing Im Competely sure she had work on was her teeth, thats about it.

Yeah...that was basically my Ayumi Hamasaki experience. I cannot over-look (or, rather, over-hear) the shrill, air-siren squeakiness of her voice. It's painful. But again, she does have some nice lyrics. Um...her music videos are quite...eccentric though. Heh. Yeah...especially "Real Me."

You might wanna re-think what you just said. Lots of people are famous for nothing.

Look at Britney Spears, for example. Pop princess of the U.S...really famous....has boat-loads of money and yet...she can't sing to save her life. Thus, is the case with Ayumi Hamasaki in my humble opinion. If she ever went on American Idol (or any other singing competition, for that matter) and the judges heard her squeaky voice crack on a note...they would laugh her off the stage. And you know it.

there's many factors & combinations of things that gets one famous. looks, talent, taking clothes off, humping around & etc. lol britney takes clothes off. i must admit to my "guilty pleasures" of ayumi's catchy songs whether she writes them or not. on another note, i took my namie's style cd & people said she sounds like britney spears which i strongly disagreed with. :mad:

A good majority of japanese girls and nearly ALL japanese celebrities wear an exhorbitant amount of makeup. When I stayed in Japan and went out with my host student for the weekend, I could barely recognize my classmates because of the amount of make up they were wearing. That's why I ended up hanging out with the boys more; they looked like normal people all the time (and those that were hot were naturally so ;)).

I looked at that one picture and I swear to go that that the 2nd pic was Raven Symone but white, you know I've seen pictures of her and she looks asian in that pic she's paler then me, and that hard to do 0.o(no females on my mom's side tan well)

But I can't stand Hamasaki's vocals. They're a little too unrefined for me. I'd get more pleasure listening to sharp, rusty nails on a chalk board.

EDIT: I just noticed that Ayu has much more songs in my 50 most played list. Her Alterna is 4th, and Utada's Sakura Drops is 19th. How sad :(
