Finally! Something new for a change!
Adult Swim has indeed aquired a new anime, and that anime ladies and gentlemen... is EUREKA 7!
Adult Swim has listed an April 14 online premiere for Eureka 7. The midnight Saturday/Sunday morning slot on April 15/16 is also listed as "TBD" on Adult Swim's TV schedule.
Credit goes to ANN for this.

Guah! I was planning on seeing this anime too which made me actually want to buy it. Now I don't have to! ^_^ Thanks Adult Swim!

OMG! Adult Swim is airing something besides some crappily drawn scribbles making nonsensical jabbering (examples: 12 Oz. Mouse and Perfect Hair Forever)! WOW! Now if they can only start airing Drawn Together reruns they'd have a decent lineup!

Haha, amen! I'm glad they put this in their lineup. I was interested, but I don't think I'd have spent my money on it. I'll see how it is on AS now before I buy, or not.

Yea! Those shows are sooooooooooo stupid.
Adult Swim needs more anime.
Now one more anime show is helping in the struggle for good TV. Awesome.

I like Adult Swim, and Eureka 7 will be cool, but who else would really like to see Toonami come out of hiding with more blocks on CN? I think that there should be more primetime anime.
Maybe then there could be some better shows. Here's a question, what are your true thoughts on Bo-Bo-Bo Bo Bo Bo er whatever you call it?

I watched an episode of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo once, and it was a little amusing. I wouldn't pay for it, personally, but considering its demographic I think it's alright.

First off, YAY for more anime. That is awesome, because the more anime they are showing, the less weird shows are one.
Second, I don't have strong feelings about Toonami because I am always busy and never get to see it. But what I have seen really isn't something I would make time for in my day to watch. I think the animes on Toonami are more geared towards younger kids who aren't as anime obsessed as the rest of us!

I certainly get what you're saying. When Toonami started, CN was taking more risks and showed some series that needed more exposure. I'm thinking that if Toonami had a stronger presence again, then perhaps it could serve to bridge the gap between regular programming and Adult Swim. Why not give Last Exile, Macross Zero, or even something like Gantz a chance?

The thing is, that's exactly it. The shows on Toonami aren't aimed for an audience of hardcore anime fans, because that's a MUCH smaller demographic than preteens. The shows they schedule are meant to bring in the biggest possible profit, not entertain a niche market.

I understand that too Kaede. I almost feel like what's happpened to MTV is what's happening to Cartoon Network. What happened with G4 and their Anime Invasion block? That's probably a great place to embrace the core. What do you all think of ADV's Anime Network? Have you seen it? I haven't had time to check it out through On Demand on my cable.

Some have said that G4 goofed and let the licenses on some of their anime to expire prematurely and found itself really without anything until they acquire new anime. They pulled Anime Unleashed rather than rerun the very few shows they had left into the ground.
I do think the plan is for Anime Unleashed to return later this year with all-new shows though...
