Personnal Rants
Well, I'm a BL fangirl sucker. XD I will be addicted to グラビテーション for the rest of my life.
I first got addicted to the anime, because the music was awesome, the characters were crazy and bigger than reality, Shuichi's adorable, and the plot had way too much random twists for it to be healthy. XD
But the manga is much much better (in my opinion which isn't shared by all the Gravi fandom...). I frickin' worship Murakami. XD She's so random! I wish I could build a story as I go, and make it that awesome. And I wish I had such crazy characters living in my head. XD;
Ebay SUCKS. All they have are the ****in' bootleg soundtracks. I've seen those in Chinatown in Montreal. THEY SUCK. The printing sucks, I could do better with my own printer. And anyway I don't wanna give my money to frickin' pirate-thieves (darn those Hong Kong pirates!!), my whole point of wanting to buy the soundtracks is to give my money to those awesome artists who created that awesomely addictive music.
Haha and that series made me join the Seki Tomokazu fangirls ranks. XD Not that he doesn't have enough as is!! Haha. Yeah all the voice actors are awesome. Did you know Yuki is Gunter in Kyou Kara Maou? XD I find it hilarious.
What I own right now: 12 Tokyopop manga, DVD boxset by RightStuf (waiting for it in the mail :þ), Gravitation fanbook (the first manga one, it's AWESOME), the Remix doujinshi compilations 1-2, 3-5 and got the 7th, got the brand new novel 2 days ago... And I own the fifth manga volume in japanese thanks to a friend. <3

wait, there's like two pics up there. ???
i've seen the megamix, and the other cover dosn't look like the one for gravitation 2, or is it??
is the second one megamix 2 or something... ( that'd be great if it was) and was megamix just a oneshot??

Sweet. I love Gravi and the megamix is cool too.
As for the novels, I've never been able to read novels. They give me squicky feelings :(

Yeah, Shuichi's himself, but with a bit more angst/insecureness as usual, in my opinion. And god is he LOUD! XD Novel was written by Jun Lennon (pun penname?) and not Murakami, but it's still pretty good...
About the Megamix:
Yes there was one in which Yuki drinks water to tell Shuichi he'll gobble him up (:þ) which was published after all the Remix doujinshi...
But those "Kumagorou" and "Panda" Megamixes are brand new! (Got out no more than a few weeks ago!) With Murakami's new artstyle (yes it looks like Gravitation 2's artstyle), and even more hardcore-ness. o.o
Gravitation 2 is a sequel to the Gravitation manga, there aren't any yaoi.

I have to admit (shamefully) that I haven't read the rules of this message board yet, and don't know if they allow such links or not here. :/
But either way, no, sadly I haven't found any scans of them yet. A scanlation group I know did show interest in scanlating them, but they don't even have scans yet. XD

I love Gravitation! :p I kind of adore Yuki, have a soft spot of Hiro, and find Shuichi sometimes really funny.. others just annoying (sorry to fans!)! ;)
After seeing the anime, which I mostly liked, I started to read the manga too, firstly to see if there was major diferences as some friends told me that there were.. I stopped on volume 6 or 7 I think.. :(
I have seen the scanlation to megamix and god.. The art is much more to the style of Gravitation 2, which in a way I like better.. And.. I had seen most of the remixes.. and really I was almost shocked.. :p Not really because of the content.. because someone already had warned me.. but the way some scenes.. were just too explicit! :P

I didn't know about Megamix Kumagorou and Panda! Thank you so much for posting this! If by any chance you come across a scanlation of this, send the link my way, pretty please <3
I have read volumes 1-12 , also the chapters that have been coming out each month, and of course the remixes:p Just got done with the novel, I have to say I was dissapointed. I wouldn't go as far to say I regret buying, just saying it could have been better.

I was hooked on Gravitation until about Vol. 7 or Vol. 8, where I started dreading where the storyline was going. In my opinion, it kind of just fizzled out. And the art was psycho throughout the whole thing--it was constantly on the flux!
The only Remix that I've ever read was the one where Shuichi was a girl, and it made me think that Murakami was on crack. The bad kind. :(

Oh and isn't the soundtrack of the series AWESOME?!!!
I LOVED IT! :D

I love the soundtrack! After listening to the music from the anime, Kotani Kinya became on of my fav. singers. I was looking at pictures of him and he kinda reminded me of what Shuichi might be like IRL...but that may just be me lol I wish I could find more stuff from Iceman and the members from that, I know they broke up and made other bands but there wasn't much info on it =(

Well I haven't read the novel yet. And the LJ link, so I think I'm still going to read it.
But I do like the manga series, I think it ended pretty good. Though Murakami art did change it think it was for the better. I've been following the sequel, which I think is pretty good. Even though the randomness kinda is...eh.
The anime is okay, but not I like the manga better. The music is real good though. I like the OVA more.

The novel is worth its price I think, even though it's printed in big font and stuff... XD; I liked some parts a lot.
Yup I liked how the first manga series ended too! It was cute. :þ And it was kinda surprising how much Eiri had changed! Gravitation 2 is kinda random right now, yes, but Murakami is just trying to pull our leg again. XD She's making me hate Ryuichi though. ><;
I liked the OAV story a lot, but the artwork was weird. I don't think it even ressembled Murakami's style at all. o.O; But I'm addicted to Shining Collection for life. XD I have a video of Iceman performing it live! The singer is sexay, but the guitarist and pianist-ish guys scared me. XD
(BTW glamorousjrocker, I just had to say: great signature pictures! XD Hikki is the best~! And along with Travelling, Distance and Keep Tryin' are my faves PVs too! <3 Oh and nice icon, HYDE is dreamy. ^..^)
I love the soundtrack! After listening to the music from the anime, Kotani Kinya became on of my fav. singers. Yeah I don't know much about Iceman at all. Just got the live Shining Collection video, the Lost Complex PV, and the Space Dreamer MP3. :/ I should investigate them more, they were really good...
And for Kotani Kinya, I think he's really good (I love Spicy Marmalade and Yuuutsu Na Seven Days ^..^) but I'm not really part of his fandom. Does he still do any music?
I didnt like the way the manga ended...
but theres a Gravitation 2?!?!?
I didnt know!

Haha don't worry, it's far from being released here (there aren't even any tankoubon, manga BOOKS printed yet in Japan) so it's no surprise you didn't hear about it. Genzo is a online magazine that sells an issue each month in japanese. They started to release them in english, but they're behind (like december or something like that). But yeah each issue is 210 yen (around 2$USD) and purchasable online only... And the instructions to get it are quite obscure (japanese people aren't very good in english... ^^; ).
Well since the forum mods didn't answer my question in the help forum, I'll just assume I'm allowed to link to unlicensed material, so I'll be sure to let you know when I have a link to download the chapters.
And why didn't you like how the first manga series ended, may I ask?
I didn't know about Megamix Kumagorou and Panda! Thank you so much for posting this! If by any chance you come across a scanlation of this, send the link my way, pretty please <3

No problem. I was quite excited when I found out about Murakami doing more doujinshi. XD *squee* I was a bit sad that she neglected Gravi2 in the process, but whatever. ^^; And they look more hardcore than ever, with 6-8 years old Eiri doing very sick stuff with Kitazawa Yuki. o.o;
I'll let everyone know if I find any scans! Gotta spead the love. XD
Well, when you read the novel surely you saw all the translations / editing mistakes. Missing commas and letters, weird grammar in some parts... I suspect the translation to be way rushed. :/ I think the original might've been a bit better, but yeah. I just think some ideas and scenes were quite original. And I love how Maiko gets more exposure, she's just like the manga depicted her. XD But Shuichi's angst was quite weird at times... *shrugs* I loved some parts, is all that counts I guess. ^^;
I was just very very dissapointed by the montages of old Murakami art... :/ They weren't even that well done. And my GOD the backcover sucks! Couldn't they hire a real graphics designer/editor?!

Hm, well, the anime is just candy. ^..^ To see our favorite characters move (especially Sakano-san!! XD He's hilarious in the anime! And his voice actor RULES) and for the music. I have to admit I saw the anime first, but then got so addicted to the manga, Shuichi doesn't appear in my head with pink hair anymore at all. :þ But he's cute in pink!
And the anime has quite its share of angst. o.o; And sweet kisses. XD You'll see you'll just melt and get into it. No need to compare the anime and manga while you're watching the anime, you'll have all your time to forge your opinion after you give the anime a try.
And I just loved all the voice actors. *is a sucker* I love the three drama CDs I listened to, too. Gosh, Seki Tomokazu is awesome, he can work with his voice so well and fits the character perfectly. Some people seem to dislike his singing but I love it (especially the Chichiri character songs. XD Mizu Kagami is my fave FY song!) Anyway he sings only in the drama CDs. :þ
Sorry but I'll turn this post into a seiyuu rant. XD I love going on and on about the different roles I know the seiyuu took...
関 智一(せき ともかず) Seki Tomokazu / Shindou Shuichi
Chichiri (Fushigi Yuugi -no da! Oh and Kouji! ^.^), Kyo (Fruits Basket XD), Ken (Weiss Kreuz, I've yet to see that anime but heard it was great), Kamui (X the movie), Miyata (Hajime no Ippo / Fighting Spirit), Kunio (GTO), Alex (blonde scientist in Ayashi no Ceres), the blond boyfriend-guy in Mai Hime... And so many other roles! He was in so many series, and usually has main roles!
井上 和彦(うのうえ かずひこ) Inoue Kazuhiko / Yuki Eiri
Aion (Chrno Crusade), Hatori (Fruits Basket), Gunter (Kyou Kara Maou XD), and a bunch of small roles. His voice is so sexy and suave... It's funny to hear him as Gunter. XD And in the drama CDs, in Shuichi's fantasies... XD "Orya orya orya!"
折笠 愛(おりかさ あい) Orikasa Ai / Seguchi Tohma (a girl XD)
Ryoko (Tenchi XD That took me by surprise), Mizuki (SaiKano OAV), Baiko (Saber Marionette J, the green haired doll which gets the shogun's memories)... And I haven't seen any other anime she was in.
山口 勝平(やまぐち かっぺい) Yamaguchi Kappei / Ryuichi
Ranma (Ranma ½!), Inuyasha (Inuyasha), Keita (Betterman), Usopp (One Piece), Artemis (PGSM; Sailor Moon live action XD Hilariousness). He also voiced Ryu in the Breath of Fire 3 to 5 games, apparently. o.o Too bad I never got to play them, but BoF2 is my fave RPG! And he voiced Ran in the Sukisho PC game... :þ And funny fact: he's Kyle Broflovski in "South Park" (Japanese dub). XD
松本 保典(まつもと やすのり) Matsumoto Yasunori / Hiroshi
Gourry (Slayers), Raven (Kyou Kara Maou), Kamihito Kagura (main guy; Steel Angel Kurumi), Dick Saucer (Dragon Half XD), Yami o Makumono (Lost Universe, the blond vilain guy)... aaaaand... a monster in the Chrono Trigger OAV. :þ
子安 武人(こやす たけひと) Koyasu Takehito / Sakano
Aya (Weiss Kreuz, he's the creator of the whole thing), Hotohori (Fushigi Yuugi), Ilpalazzo (Excel Saga), Yoru (Sukisho ^.^), Jean Jacques Mondo (Spriggan, the blonde guy), Rezo (Slayers), Hanagata (Saber Marionette J. XD), Betterman Lamia (Betterman o.o), Ryuji Sugashita (DNA², prissy vilain guy). He got a huge career. o.o; And has quite ecclectic roles. XD I worship him for voicing Sanako and Hanagata! XD <3
置鮎 龍太郎(おきあゆ りおたろ) Okiayu Ryotaro / K (Claude)
Shigure (Fruits Basket), Kurei (Flame of Recca), Kuchiki Byakuya (Bleach), Dark (DN Angel), Mr. Longhair (Di Gi Charat, the blonde bishie XD), Tiger Eye (Sailor Moon SS), Kai Nagase (Sukisho, the guy with Nanami, whom is voiced by Ishida Akira/Xelloss XD)
Little extra: Sakurai Takahiro who voices Yuuri in Kyou Kara Maou is the host of the Quiz de Pon show in Gravitation. XD
Oh my gosh I'm such a geek. Sorry, when I get started... XD Here's my source, check for more voice actors: here (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=624)

Awesome! XD I'm happy to see so many people agrees here! I had read a lot of negative comments about the manga because a) the art wasn't to their taste at the beginning of the series (but I loved it personally) and b) it became too random to their taste (but that's what I love too, Murakami's a crazy god. I'm a huge Gravitation fan - I have all of the Tokyopop manga as well as the anime, have seen the OVA, and have the novel as well, but...to me, the way the novel was written, so many things were left out of it. I like the manga much better! I heard recently that Yuki's seiyuu was Gunter in KKM, and thought O.o! lol Thanks for the info on the dj's and Gravitation 2 - I'll look those up soon.

*big hug* Yoohoo! XD
Yeah the novel was more of a short story. :þ If the characters weren't printed that big it would've been a pocket novel. But it was kinda refreshing. I'm still wondering who the heck that "Jun Lennon" person is. No way is someone actually called that! Sounds like a pun on John Lennon! ><; But yeah heard there was a second novel coming, but I don't know any details; dunno if it's from the same author, if it'll continue this novel or what.

And when she draws characters as skikey freaking-out hair and she just writes their name on it to show it's them, I love it. XD;

Well the only site I can find that's worth looking at that has info n Kotani Kinya is his official site that's in Japanese, so I don't understand most of the stuff on there lol From what i have gathered on there he released a new CD in 2005 called Kinya Aerial, and he has a new single in printing right now called IT'S.
No problem. I was quite excited when I found out about Murakami doing more doujinshi. XD *squee* I was a bit sad that she neglected Gravi2 in the process, but whatever. ^^; And they look more hardcore than ever, with 6-8 years old Eiri doing very sick stuff with Kitazawa Yuki. o.o;
I'll let everyone know if I find any scans! Gotta spead the love. XD
Well, when you read the novel surely you saw all the translations / editing mistakes. Missing commas and letters, weird grammar in some parts... I suspect the translation to be way rushed. :/ I think the original might've been a bit better, but yeah. I just think some ideas and scenes were quite original. And I love how Maiko gets more exposure, she's just like the manga depicted her. XD But Shuichi's angst was quite weird at times... *shrugs* I loved some parts, is all that counts I guess. ^^;
I was just very very dissapointed by the montages of old Murakami art... :/ They weren't even that well done. And my GOD the backcover sucks! Couldn't they hire a real graphics designer/editor?!
I will be the happiest fan-girl when I finally get to see scans of that oh so hot sounding doujinshi!
The mistakes in the novel irked me to no end. Like the saying says "If you do something, do it right" =/
I like how there were so new stuff in there and I really liked how they got into Hiro's mom more.
Hated the Shuichi angst and when it said that Eiri kept girlfriends on the side while he is with Shuichi, that made me sad =(
The so could have picked some of her better artwork for the novel. And it would have been so awesome if they had made new art for the front and back cover <3

The novel is worth its price I think, even though it's printed in big font and stuff... XD; I liked some parts a lot.
Yup I liked how the first manga series ended too! It was cute. :þ And it was kinda surprising how much Eiri had changed! Gravitation 2 is kinda random right now, yes, but Murakami is just trying to pull our leg again. XD She's making me hate Ryuichi though. ><;
^..^)Yeah I'm garentee(sp?) to get the novel soon. I have to read it just to see how it is. It's not that much either so...yeah.
That was the thing I liked the most about the OVA was the story, but I did think the art look different, but I like that about it. Though I thought Eiri looked strange sometimes. Shining Collection is my favorite Gravitation song, so I really loved the performance of it in the OVA.
I've seen that live too, and Iceman looks cool, I like his guitarist and pianoist too. They're not scary,lol, well to me they're not.
(Thanks, I just love how Utada put abit of her previous PV in Keep Tryin', love the PV too. The one in my sig is my fav. And love HYDE and his solo, L'Arc~en~Ciel is my fav band too.)
Eiri still having girlfriends while he's with Shuichi. Aw~ That sucks...he sucks lol.

Wow...looks like many love to watch or read Gravitation. I'm the same. I just love the anime sooo much. Shu-chan is so cute when he's with Yuki the hottie. haha... I have the 12 volume mangas and the anime. ^^ I won't compare between them because I just love Gravitation. Though, I hope the anime would be longer than 13. :D

Hated the Shuichi angst and when it said that Eiri kept girlfriends on the side while he is with Shuichi, that made me sad =(
About that, the way I understood it in the novel was that SHUICHI was the one that thought Eiri had other girlfriends. I personnaly don't think he would after Shu moved in. 'Cause, well, Shu would be likely to confront Yuki about it one day of another, and Yuki would prolly hate that. Especially after the whole Taki/ASK rape thing. (Though I think the novel is placed just before that... Not sure.)
And thanks for the lil' Kotani info bits, once I learn japanese I'll be sure to check it out. XD; I am trying to learn it... I know hiragana and katakana fully well, and a few kanji... What I'm missing is vocabulary. :/ Trying to watch anime without subtitles, to catch some things...
And I agree, Shining Collection is an awesome song, L'Arc~en~Ciel are the best, HYDE is hawt and Utada Hikaru is the best female singer ever. <3

Yoohoo! Must celebrate you, you have an open mind. ^_^ I'm trying to get a guy I know to just stop seeing Gravitation as a bad thing, without having even seen it! He's like "don't plague my girlfriend with it!". What the heck?
I have actually heard of quite a few straight guys liking Gravitation. Of course it's possible; it's not 'cause you read BL that you'll be gay, just like it's not because you listen to metal that you'll have spikes in your hair, or that you read a cookbook that you'll be a good cook!
I'm just trying to get that guy to have an open mind, without forcing him to watch Gravitation 'cause that'd be worse. Just trying to make America less homophobic, one american at a time. :þ
And, anyway, what I keep repeating is that Gravitation isn't just about the BL. It has other great plot elements, namely the whole band stuff, rivalries between ASK, Bad Luck and Nittle Grasper, and the whole Uesugi crazy family, and the weird relations all the characters somehow have.
My lil' anecdote is when I first heard about Ranma, I just heard that it was a guy changing into a girl. I thought "WTF?". When a friend of mine asked me if I seen or read it, I said "That weird crazy thing with a guy turning into a girl?! No way am I gonna watch that." Gosh am I thankful I met that friend because I would've passed up on an AWESOME series because of my prejudice!

The novel wasn't written by the original artist/author.
With that in mind, I'd say each medium have their appeal. ^^
The manga is very interesting because it gets pretty random and it's always full of humor even in drama-moments, and the art constantly evolves!
The anime has great animation, the music is awesome, the voice actors are gods, and the story is pretty well put together, even if they had only 13 episodes to fit all that angst they wanted.
The novel is like a fanfiction, with a pretty good cannon-ish storyline... It's very interesting to say the least. ^^
My personnal favorite will always be the manga. <3

Yeah, OMG! How disturbing! XD; But still gave me shivers when Yuki licked his neck and stuff. XD; I'm a sucker.
But yeah yesterday finally saw Kanpai at my usual bookstore (the only one with manga in _english_ where I live), but they only had volume 2. The geek that I am, I still read it. XD And the main character was a Shuichi with blonde/black hair. o.O; Murakami's style evolved weirdly... But it's really her style now. What can ya do? *shrugs*

When Murakami's style changed, the characters started to look like they got younger. But I like how her style was like in book 6. I thought it was good then it changed abit more.
Even though, I do like her new style then the style she had at the begining of Gravitation.

Yes, the scans for the Megamixes are up, but the scanlation will be out really soon too. So yeah, just be patient a bit before starting your research of it, so you can actually understand what happens (because if you can't read what they're saying, you might have a wrong impression and it might ruin your experience. I know 'cause there were a big uproar about those scans on LJ.)
But lemme tell you something you should engrave in your minds: the new Megamix Kumagorou and Megamix Panda are EXTREMELY, HEAVILY, OVERLY VERY HARDCORE. NOT for every fan! And don't expect much story either, haha.
And to answer the question about whether the Remixes and Megamixes would be legal in America... Well I can tell you that the Megamix Panda SURELY wouldn't, because there's a shota!Eiri in there (he looks like 6-8 years old, but is supposed to 12-14... Heh.)
Those doujinshi are "censored" (by that oh-so-ever-useful lil' black bar at the very end of the male genitalia that really doesn't cover much XD) but yeah, I don't think the americans would receive it well. Either way, the Remixes and Megamixes aren't even published by real editors in Japanese (they are printed by doujinshi groups, IE the author and her friends), so really don't expect any company to pick them up in U.S.!
If what you're asking is whether you'd be allowed to possess them or get them shipped to US... I dunno. I know some guy in Canada got condemned 'cause he owned shota manga. But I did get my Remixes shipped to me in Canada without any problem (they didn't open the enveloppe though).
Side note: I personnaly loved Murakami's early style, dunno why. I got used to it?
And dear bA-ka_l0v3lEsS, I understand that you might've been disappointed in the novel, since it wasn't Murakami's work and you might've not liked the way it was written or the randomness or I dunno. But why return it? Was it that expensive? Why not give it to a friend? o.O; Just wondering...
Anyway personnaly I liked the novel. It had some really good points. Maybe it could've gotten a better flow but yeah, just consider it a fanfiction.

I have to say though that even though "Break Through" isn't on the official soundtracks, it's official 'cause it was sang by Seki Tomokazu on one of the Sound Stories. Also, Yuutsuna Seven Days played in the anime during the "Yay going to our date!" scene, but wasn't on the official soundtracks (a great song nonetheless)
Please don't buy bootlegs, that's encouraging evil Hong Kong bootleggers! The actual people who worked on those wonderful CDs wouldn't get a single dollar from your buying of a bootleg! Yeah goodluck with that. ^_^ You can check the links I posted in the first post of this thread to buy them from Japanese stores, you can be sure that they are official (if you can't read japanese, Google can translate pages pretty well...)
Though I know it'd be hella-hard to buy from japanese sites. And so I promise to tell you guys if I can find the official CDs once I'm in Japan. Though it'd have to ask quite a bit for buying and shipping I think... :/ I'll be sure to hunt down more info and reliable sources on the subject! [Edit]Actually I just found a website which looks pretty official-ish. AnimeCornerStore (http://www.animecornerstore.com/ancdsoung.html). If any of you purchase from that website, be sure to let me know if what they sell really is official!
About bootlegs
Do not ever buy anything from Ever Anime or SonMay (SM) Records. They are BOOTLEG COMPANIES. So are Alion, Archer Records, Miya Records, or Golden Diamond Music.
SME Visual Works, Nippon Colombia and Artinos Records Inc. are OFFICIAL companies that have released Gravitation CDs.
If you have the CD in your hands, just look at the print quality and you'll immediatly notice if it's a bootleg or not.
Online, they don't always provide a good picture of the CD, or the manufacturing company name. Then look for the product number.
SMA-024 = bootleg by SonMay
A8-1114 = bootleg by Ever Anime (even if it has the Artinos company logo! I know, sneaky aren't they?!)
ARCJ 161 = official from Artinos Records Inc. (They did the TV-Track and the OAV soundtrack as far as I know)
COCC-14081 = official from Nippon Colombia (Audio Comics)
SVWC 7090 = official from SME Visual Works Inc. (Sound Stories)
Why go through the trouble of seeing if the CDs you buy are official? 'Cause if you don't, you're wasting your money. The actual people who worked so hard to make what you love don't gain a cent with the selling of bootlegs. All bootleg-profit go to lazy-ass taiwanese pirates who have no morals.
Also, a lot of bootlegs are REALLY BAD quality. Just download the songs and you'll have the same quality, really. Yes, it's better to download than buy bootlegs (burn yourself the songs on CD if you want!), but if you have a way to purchase the officials, please do and support the industry.
Link to a FAQ that explains the issue pretty well. (http://www.animecornerstore.com/faq.html#1-5)
Unfortunately the website that discussed it really well went down. ;_;
A zip with CD covers picture I could find, which I labeled Bootleg or not (http://s49.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2AZKEJIX8TCQJ2T4LAPQQ9S78R)

I was looking at the CD my friend lent me - it has a picture of Shuichi from the anime with "Gravitation Best Collection" at the bottom right corner. Inside it has a lyric booklet with combined pictures from both the anime and OAV. The back cover has a picture of Shuichi singing and Eiri from the OAV. I was trying to look at the record company that it came from, and the only thing I can tell is that it says K-O Records, Ltd. and there is a web site, www.k-ocd.com. The first five tracks are Bad Luck songs, the next four are from the anime, the next one is from the OAV, and the last two are from Audio Comics (not quite sure where that's from); making a total of twelve tracks.

Yes that's a CD entirely made up by the bootleg company (sorry I forgot to mention it). Really, there just ISN'T an official version of it! The bootleg company figured they could take all the most popular songs, throw some Kotani Kinya not-Gravi-related songs, and call it a collection, and people would buy it (which they do). I'll have to edit my post, thank you for reminding me!
And that website sucks, as expected by a bootleg company. xþ Noticed how they don't give any details about the company, not even where it's based at? The "Contact Us" and "E-mail Us" links are the same for gosh's sake, they can't list their address! XD

I didn't get to see much of the anime, but I'm a huge Hiroshi fan girl and have been since the sixth grade, so i gave it a try.
this is surprise to me: the same voice actor who plays my favorite emperor of anime also plays Sakano?! :eek: i never would have guessed that... :p
and i honestly can't imagine Dark sounding like K. I haven't seen the DNAngel anime yet, but I've read the manga and heard K's voice... it just doesn't seem to fit. <(@_@)>

Ah, so much I want to say about Gravitation. It attacked me mercilessly about two years ago and hasn't let go since. XP My first exposure to it was an AMV that a friend gave me: "OH MY GOD it's a gay guy with pink hair wearing a skirt! And he sings, too! Cuuuute!" I remember those days, when my friend said, "I think one of them is named Yuki." XD
Then I got hooked on the manga, and learned every little detail about these characters' lives. ^_^;; Murakami is such an idiotic genius. Randomness is only funny if done right, and Murakami somehow has the gift to do it magnificently. Although it is often apparent that she made the story up as she went along, I can somehow ignore all the imperfections and worship the shelf space my 12 volumes sit on. XD Her characters are that loveable. I felt Shuichi's energy in the very first volume, which was probably the strongest addictive factor for me.
I'm debating whether or not to try picking up the Megamixes at the next con I'm going to. They're probably expensive, and porn for the sake of porn is just a little bit...eh. I do adore certain humorous issues of the Remixes though, such as #4 ("Sex lessons"...uh huh. So OOC for Hiro to use him like that, but SO funny). I also like #7 for some reason. Hee hee...the front of the first megamix says "Do I look like a girl?" Yes, Shindou. Yes, you do. You don't even need to be wearing that in order to look like a girl. XP
As for the music...I am addicted to almost anything and everything Daisuke Asakura. He is the composer of all of Gravitation's music (anime and OVA), and the "scary (? noo)" guy on keyboards in Iceman. ;P Iceman is one of the best bands ever. They have some annoying songs, but masterpieces like "Shining Collection" more than compensate for them. If I could only see one live concert in my entire life, it would be Iceman. Too bad the band doesn't exist anymore. T_T

I'm posting this separately in case it's against the rules or something, so my other post won't get deleted.
.....
This is just a rumor, but I've heard that Blu (a division of Tokyopop) is looking into the possibility of licensing the Remixes for the States. This is not official, just what I've heard. Somehow I doubt that it will be possible, not necessarily just because of the content, but because they are not even under a major publisher in Japan. I've never heard of doujinshi getting licensed, but of course it IS by the original creator...so I don't know, in this case. All I can do is hope (because hell, I'd buy it in English book form *shame*).

Hilariousness, huh? XD; That's why I love looking up seiyuu so badly! XD
And lemme tell you, Dark does have K's voice and it's noticeable, but he's such a great voice actor, he could fit any character really. XD
*nods* Hiroshi's seiyuu is great also. I just KNEW I heard his voice before, when I watched the anime. He voiced Gourry! XD Like, exact same voice. It amuses me.
And Koyasu Takehito is AWESOME! XD I recommend watching Saber Marionette J and keeping in mind Hanagata and Sakano-san have the same seiyuu. XD Oh and I need to re-watch The Slayers and pay attention to Rezo's voice. o.o
*cough* Enough nerdy rambling on my part...

Murakami is such an idiotic genius.
So true! XD; God I love her.
And I agree about her building the story as she goes. And her pointing out her continuity mistakes (like clothes XD) in her liners notes was AWESOME. XD; She's a lovable nerd who made up a crazy unforgettable cast and put them in the weirdest situations.
Whether you should buy the new Megamixes is up to you. Really the Kumagorou one is just plain porn. People have been complaining that Eiri was completely out of character, but I don't think so. Also I recommend you to know japanese, as to not have misconceptions and thus ruining your experience of the doujinshi (it happened a lot at the community I'm at, heh).
As for the Panda, I was pleasantly surprised (though that might sound sick of me). It actually had a story. Though that makes it even more hardcore and disturbing, because the story is very tragic (about Eiri not being able to move on about Kitazawa). And there's a 6-8 years old-looking Eiri in there, and the threesome with Tohma and Tatsuha is very hardcore and disturbing (god Eiri's screwed up, in all meanings of the term XD; ). Again, japanese knowledge or at least a translation would be best to have...
Really, Murakami far surpassed all her previous Remixes... (I heard from most yaoi fans in a community that they had never seen such hardcore doujinshi, haha!) So yeah, just be warned.
The keyboardist guy is Daisuke Asakura?! Haha. I know very little about the artists themselves you see, I try to get as much music from them as I can, but they seem to be rare sight nowadays... I should go out there and get more info on them but I waste enough time online as is, I have SO much to do! ><;
And good question about the bringing of the Remixes to the US! Actually an acquaintance of mine (not sure if she wants me to name her) said she was trying to do that same thing, prolly she's part of that group you mentionned! She said they were rejected but she was keeping hope. Here's my reply:
The doujinshi could be released in America?! o.O;! I never imagined that. XD; I really don't think americans would be ready for that, not for another 10 years, really! I'm serious. It would give a "bad" image of manga / japanese culture. I am trying to make America less homophobic, one american at a time (on chats I try to show them the logic "it sucks even though I haven't seen any of it" and "it might turn me gay!" doesn't work :þ), but gosh is it hard! I don't wanna generalize, but I had a Californian boyfriend for 3 years and a half, so I saw a LOT of close-minded americans, even throughout anime fans. I personnaly wouldn't mind seeing an official release of the Remixes, but I really don't think it'll happen before my teeth rot. XD But do try your best to prove me wrong! *grin*

This thread makes me happy, for it has content and is more than a sentence long. ;0;
I personally like remakes of the story more than the original. I like it when someone can take already produced characters, slap on a steamy storyline. Sort of like an "after Gravitation" type feel.
Hiro was my favorite.
I'm definetly an Uke though. :cool:

Hm, so you like anime versions best? Or did you mean you read the novel and liked it?
I always figured Hiro to be an uke but I guess Murakami thinks otherwise. XD; He's the overall Mr. toonice-guy who never gets too much recognition and doesn't mind either.
And I took a quiz once and it said I was seme, but could go uke, because the important thing was for everyone to have fun. XD LOL

I just saw some scans from the Panda remix, and daaaamn. x_x You say the Kumagorou one is worse, graphically? (That's the one I was actually more interested in, since I think graphic shota and Yuki-uke are kind of creepy. >.<) Do you have the scanlations, Veroniku? I'm having a difficult time finding anything on [edit: a certain community >_>] since there are sooo many posts.

Scanlations aren't out yet. A partial translation of Panda was released by a really great guy on a certain community *coughI'llPMyoucough*. On that certain community, there was an uproar about Kumagorou being so graphic and plot-deprived and stuff, so it was decided that Panda would be translated first. The scanlations will take a WHILE, sorry.
And hm, maybe you wanna edit out the name of that community there. ^^; *sweatdrop* Though it is an AWESOME one. I used to not being able to keep up with the posts either, but now that I'm interested in so many titles they are releasing, it's really easy for me to check all the posts... ^^
Oh and I understand if you think shota and uber-uke-Eiri scares you a bit. ^^;; It is VERY hardcore. Not just the sex like in Kumagorou. There's a tragic story about Eiri's psychological state... And stuff. But BECAUSE of that, most people I heard opinions from prefer Panda over Kumagorou, like me.
Really, shota!Eiri isn't all that disturbing because he and Kitazawa were like, consentant (sp?)... There are I love yous and stuff. It's more the topic, the messed up psychological scars Eiri has... And how Tohma and Tatsuha act with him... that are disturbing. ^^;
Though, Eiri makes a perfect uke if you ask me. XD;; *sweatdrop* I'm such a nerd...

Ok I'm late with this post... ^^; I've been lazy, forgive me...
Onto Gravitation news! Track 65 of Gravitation 2 was released! And is apparently free for download this month on Web Comic Genzo (http://www.gentosha-comics.net/genzo-e/index.html)!! (Something about them messing up in the order form... I'm not sure, haha.)
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a360/UsagiNyo/gravi/track65.jpg
Yay, there is more pages than Track 64~~ (Not that it was hard to beat XD) And Riku runs away after Eiri's shocking confession~ O.O That's as much "spoilers" as you get. XD; Just, for those of you who did read this track, aren't you guys worried about poor Eiri?! ;__; (Please use spoiler tags or put your text in white when talking about this track and giving spoilers)
Gravitation 2 discussion!
For those of you who read it, what do you think so far?!
You can get the first track for free, and purchase the following ones for only 240 yen (like 2,40$ canadian) on Web Comic Genzo (http://www.gentosha-comics.net/genzo-e/index.html), and they have english versions now! (Though they are released quite a bit later than japanese versions).
I think Murakami didn't lose her randomness touch. XD And now, with Track 65, the angst touch... ;_; The story kinda developps fast but I'm not sure where she's heading at all. o.O; The events go all over the place... Heh. Well first this would be prolly easier to read in the tanboukon... =/
Anyway. What about her art style now? I love how she draws Eiri, just as sexy as ever. But Shuichi looks so young... =/ He's cute, but he was so hawt at the beginning of the manga... ;__; *sigh* Ne well.
Now for spoilery discussion (highlight the text to read it):
What do you think about Riku? *.* He seems like a weird kid. Well, having no parents and living with a shemale must be hard on a kid and all... XD; But I think it's quite something that Eiri saved him... Gah I can't wait for Track 66. ><

I was reading the new tracks for awhile on a site that posted them that shall remain nameless, but I kind of stopped because they fell behind with the translations or something...I wonder if I should read this one or not. *downloading it anyway* ^_^;; I want to know when the tankouban will start coming out, dammit!!
And you're right, Shuichi looks like he grew five years younger and it's a little creepy. -.- But eh, what can ya do? I guess there is an appeal in the small, childish, and feminine uke, but it's weird since he did used to look a lot more like a dude. XD
Edit: Hey waaait...It doesn't appear to be free. It's asking me for money, what's up with that! :|

[spoiler..maybe...not reallyish]I read the newest track recently(a few days ago). Yeah I'm wondering what's gonna happen. To Eiri, and everybody else. I hope everything is okay aswell.
Yup. Shuichi looks very different. Younger, yeah. But I do like her style still, I think it's nice enough. Though I prefer when her art was changing but not alot, I'm used to how it is now.
But I like Riku. He's cute, though he may seem a bit strange. But he might cause trouble(more trouble), and that might suck.

Ahh, really? Sucks. =/ Well can't give you links here but I promise there's someone somewhere online that distributes them. ^^; Or just wait for the manga volumes to be compiled eventually. =/
I don't hate Murakami's new style at all actually. ^^ Eiri looks hawt. And I love Reiji. XD; But Shu just looks too childish; with all he lived through he should actually have wrinkles, you know! XD; I guess it fits him. But yeah it's just his evolution was weird. o.O; Yeah, he looked more manly and stuff. If I wanted to see a woman with a man I'd read shoujo, you know. XD;;; *dies*
I recently-ish read the second volume of Kanpai (they didn't have the first, but I read the second anyway XD; ), and her artstyle was like exactly the same as the end of the Gravi manga. There's even an Eiri clone in there! XD It cracked me up. Her style is very interesting, but I thought her old style was just as interesting... I loved her one-shot about the vampire guy! XD; I really loved her illustrations then! I guess what I feel is nostalgia?
And yeah, Riku had it tough so you can't really hate him (and he does have a cute face... But looks hilarious when he has cat-eyes! XD), but him just appearing in between Eiri and Shu all of a sudden (and when they finally could get some fluff, too!) is rather frustrating. =/ I blame Yoshiki. XD;
Can't wait for the next track... Damn youse Murakami and your cliffhangers of death~~!

No no, that's a good point! She might draw Shuichi looking younger to reflect the fact that he's childish and weird! XD; Ryuichi kinda changed in that way too, just a lil'.
And Eiri looks hawt, to reflect the fact that... He's hawt. XD;; He still looks masculine 'cause of course, he's seme! XD
Tohma's new hairstyle kinda threw me off though. o.O;? He's trying to look young too, but failing miserably 'cause he's 30? XD; I dunno, his hairstyle reminds me too much of Trigun, hahah. Oh no, black roots! He's losing his manipulative superpowers!

Sorry about double-posting. ^^; But I'm so excited I just have to share. XD;
I finally got my hands on the two Audio Comics and 3 Drama CDs!!! ^__________^ *SQUEE!* I have listened to the first Drama CD so far. Gosh darn, Rage sounds too feminine and young! o.O; I always imagined her with a strong voice... Ahh well. The actress still does an awesome job, very hyper and dominent-ish. XD
And Judy speaks VERY fluent japanese... o.O; It's weird. Very weird.
And OMG there are so many action scenes, and so much noises of broken glass and punches and kicks and XD It's a hilarious CD! K is AWESOME! XD
Also what's great about those Drama CDs is they follow the manga, so you can listen to them and understand what's going on thanks to the manga (though I was at work and couldn't, but the voice actors are so awesome, it doesn't matter, I understand pretty much everything XD). Drama CD vol. 1 starts out when Shuichi gets kidnapped to New York (like, starts with the Judy movie in theaters kinda). That's volume 10 right? *doesn't have her manga close to her reach*
Anyway, yeah. I FULLY recommend you buy those Drama CDs. XD

(Sorry about the late reply) the seiyuu for Shuichi isn't Seki only on the Audio Comics (which were the first dramas to come out, well before the anime). I have yet to listen to it. XD It sounds awkward to imagine Shuichi with someone else's voice.

Asking for scans or posting links to scanned manga is not allowed in this forum. (See Rule #11 in the rules announcement that's stickied at the top of the forum.) Having said that, I'll add this. You're unlikely to find scans of Gravitation because it's been licensed. Most scan sites stop distributing their scans once a work has gotten a US license.

Has Gravitation 2 been licensed yet? Or any news that it's going to? I didn't hear any, but I'm hoping TOKYOPOP will since they had already licensed the manga and novel.

Gravitation 2's English version is sold as a downloadable web comic by Web Comic GENZO. It's sold on a monthly basis for a little less than $2.00 US per issue. For more information on buying Gravitation 2, go to their web site at http://www.gentosha-comics.net/genzo-e/index.html

Wow, I didn't know that exists. Anyway, this means that it won't come out in book form, I guess. At least not so soon.
I'm happy to know that there's an English version, but I rather not collect chapter by chapter (speaking by experience).
Please, oh please come out in book form. I hope TOKYOPOP does it too to complete their collection. XD

I know; I'm hoping for the same thing. While I really appreciate its being published simultaneously in English, I hate reading manga on the computer. It's really difficult to see the page properly, especially on my little laptop. I'm just going to keep waiting and hoping it comes out in book form, from some publisher, any publisher... :(
Oh yeah, I was going to mention that I downloaded the drama CDs (shh), and Reiji's voice is a little different than I expected too, but it really works for her! And Tomokazu Seki is brilliant as always. <3 <3 I especially love the intro track where he sounds like he's gonna orgasm just from narrating about Yuki. XD

i have never read gravitation. i really feel like i should. now, i'm sure this is obvious, but if i read the novel (first), it's going to totally ruin the manga for me, correct?

Well...*thinks about it* no, probably not. It will introduce the characters to you, and reference various events in the manga (of varying importance -- nothing too major, if I recall), but other than that it's just a harmless side story.
I don't think I'd really recommend letting the novel introduce someone to Gravitation though, because the manga is so much better in my opinion! (I think that's also the general consensus.) But I guess if you're on a tight budget, the novel is cheaper and it's better than no Gravitation. :P
