Why that would be Love Roma. This is a little different then most other manga because in the very begining the guy tells the girl that he likes her. Theres no beating around the bush here and the guy is so honest and says whatever comes into his head.My favorite is when he tells the girl "your strong like a man" or when someone gives him a condom and he doesn't try hide from the girl.I'm wondering if anyone here likes it too.

I appreciated the side-stepping of all the unnecessary angst by a manga character simply being direct for a change, and if it had remained a one-shot then I would think of it with fondness, even if never love.

But. Why make it a series? None of the characters are really charismatic enough for me to pay good money to read about their further adventures, and nothing happens that's ever at all interesting. I wanted to like this manga, I really did, but it was just so irredeemably boring.

In the spirit of George W. Bush, I shall be THE DECIDER.

Love Roma, a very good romantic comedy stretched too thin. While I enjoyed the first volume, when I finished reading it I felt no desire to go out and buy volume 2 and see what the characters will do next. I would reccomend the first volume, as it is a good rom-com with unique art, but I'd wait till after you read it to see if you want to continue (pretty sensible advice for any series, really).

I thought CLAMP was telling everyone to get Sgt. Frog.

SGT> frog is garbage. though, yes, undeniably humurous and witty at times, its fairly easy to see how mediocre it is compared to lets say..any other superior manga out there.

Clamp recommended the series. They have nothing to do with it personally. They just like it.

As for me, I adore Love Roma. Having been brought up on the Ranma 1/2's and Video Girl Ai's and the like, the foward-thinking directness of Love Roma is a blast of fresh air to me, as many others have said.

Author Toyoda proves that great stories and conflicts don't just come from the quest for the accquisition of love--happily ever after can be pretty damn interesting in its own right.

I liked Love Roma a LOT. I can see why some people would find it boring, but I liked the change of pace. I thought it was really cute and fresh. Not my favorite manga by a long shot, but still worth buying.

I felt the opposite because after reading vol.1, I wanted to buy vol.2 right away. Its nice not having to read the same cliched angst that is in most shojo and shonen right now. Plus, I thought their reactions to eveyday things were hilarious. I'm waiting for vol.3 to come in anyday now.

Your right, in that you need to read before you buy.I didn't buy it as a blind buy but after reading it in Barnes & Noble. :D

I must say that for the longest time I avoided Love Roma because I hated the artwork. But finally one day I bit the bullet and read it at lunch...and really enjoyed it! Honestly because CLAMP recommended it (the CLAMP recommendation is on the back of the book).

I love the blunt honesty, the very honest and innocent way he asks what to do and tells her exactly what is on his mind. Sometimes there can be too much angst in the world and this is a great remedy.

Admitedly, I didn't get Vol. 2, though. I like it as a one-shot.
