Gackt is very popular, but I dont think hes pretty.

Hes talented too...but he doesn't suit my tastes. Only songs I can really stand are Mizerable, Vanilla, and Mirror.

I really liked his role in MoonChild, and his lives are impressive.

Whenever I watch Domoto Kyoudai, I almost ALWAYS see Gackt on an episode. o____o;;

You're not pronouncing his name in the way that sounds like a cat coughing up a hair ball, are you? Just so you know, it's supposed to sound like "gakuto" or "gackto". I have no idea what it means (if there is a meaning), though.

At times his vocals can come off like a dead cat or a goat if held too long, but I do love most of his songs.
His english sucks for the most part vocally. Haaa~
Although, he is rather favoring of the Japanese fans, it's not really fair since he knows he has fans in Europe and the Americas.

Repedemtion was good but from I've heard after Malice Mizer he became a Japanese backstreet boy so "commerical" and "Over girlie girlie pop" I don't do that, well ok Death Wish was great with its almost Megadeth Hanger 18 riff but if you do an album title called Love Letters and release it on Valintines Day then I say you are no better than the likes of Westlife and other bands like that.
He was cool with Malice Mizer but if he's a J-Backstreet boy that is where I draw the line. Thank god Mana hasn't gone down that path yet.

About Gackt, everything he produces nowadays is crap. He's a good musician, but lacks the originality that he used to have.

Wow. I kinda thought Gackt was crap too to begin with, but lately I've gotten into his music, it's kinda weird.
Most of you seem to think that Gackt is some crappy cliched singer. I know you lot only represent a small proportion of people who have an opinion of Gackt out there, but if so many of you don't like him, then who the hell bought his tickets/albums etc etc and got him as famous as he is now?
Gackt probably had more originality with Malice Mizer but I think in terms of lookwise, he's better solo and his voice is great so it doesn't really matter whether he's with Malice Mizer or solo.

I LOVE Gackt! I think the reason is cos he's so camp and he doesn't realise, kinda feel sorry for him...haha. Just the whole image(s) he's created. I understand why some people find him irritating though.

Because to me, hearing his voice is torture. I've listened to many of his songs and tried to give him a chance, but to no avail. His voice sounds...a mess. All over the place and erratic. Though I will give him credit for writing his own lyrics.

What also annoys me is the "mysterious and solitary air" he tries to give off. And the fact that people think he's a demigod. He looks totally manufactured to me- not attractive at all. I may sound harsh, but note I gave him a chance.

Gackt is, in my oppinion, the best singer ever. And although he is rather odd... (says he's a vampire born in 1540, and can see ghosts, to list some...) I still think he's amazing. I love Lust for Blood, White eyes, and Returner ~Yami no Shuuen~.
