What is your favorite manga?

Vampire Game is my favorite manga. Vampire Game is the story of a battle between vampires and humans. The Vampire King Duzzel fought with King Phelios, and Phelios used a spell to kill the both of them. However, Duzzel cast a spell to return to enact his revenge on Phelios's descendants. But there's a problem: he's reborn as a cat. Phelios's great-grandaughter Ishtar finds the now fuzzy Duzzel, and for some reason helps him on his quest to find Phelios. And can you believe that it's a comedy?

But I also do like Fruits Basket, which is about a girl who comes to live with a large family that, when hugged by a member of the opposite gender, turns into a member of the Chinese Zodiac. Talk about relationship problems, lol.

My favorite manga series would be Parasyte,Berserk,Blade of the Immortal,Flowers and bees, and Mars. Parasyte,Berserk,and Blade of the Immortal aren't just mindless action but explore some pretty deep themes,well to me anyway. Parasyte explores on what it means to be human and what is humanitity's place in the grand scheme of things. Berserk showcases the struggle of freewill and fate using Guts and Griffth. Blade of the Immortal shows that taking revenge isn't as easy it seems. Samura shows that the cycle of revenge might never end or you become who you are pursing in your quest for revenge. In Flower and bees, I so related to Komatsu's pursuit to be cool and popular.It's the only manga so far to make me laugh out loud when he's getting ready for a date;) .Mars is just great and the ending is just wow.

Technically, my favorite manga is Fruits Basket, but if we're just talking about graphic novels here, my favorite graphic novel is Kill Me, Kiss Me, which is in fact a Korean manwha (the same thing as manga, just not Japanese). It was the first series I started to read from Tokyopop and after that I was hooked. :D

Wow, I can't pick a favorite manga....haha!

I really like Full Moon (wo Sagashite), because it's so funny how she gets to change into an adult and sing.

I also think Fruits Basket is really interesting because the whole concept of changing into a zodiac animal when hugged really intrigued me. I lost my taste for it a bit when I found a spoiler accidentally and the couple I wanted to end up together didn't end up together, but I still do intend to read all the volumes that come out...^__^;;

I also really liked one of the newer manga released called Dramacon. I'm definitely waiting on volume 2 for that! It's funny and fast paced, but quite interesting - more so because I have yet to go to an anime convention... (I've only been into anime/manga for about a year or so, but still!)

the xxxHolic/Tsubasa Chronicle series is really good too - I like how the stories are intertwined with many CLAMP characters. I really like CLAMP! ^___^

I could babble on and on about a lot of series, but I'm more curious to see what other people like. =)

It's a brilliant and provocative story that, although short, is worth reading. It's a bittersweet love story that beckons to memories of when romance novels were more than just text based pornography for women. I really hope Tokyopop brings over it's sequel someday.

Hmmm...definately have to be Naruto, Bleach, Saiyuki (and Reload), Hellsing, Death Note, Angel Sanctuary, and Full Metal Alchemist.

Tokyopop owns my SOUL for bringing over the Saiyuki series...no matter how dramatic the story gets, I am always guarenteed at least one good "ROFL" moment if not more. The translation job is fantastic. THANK YOU for not skimping on the crude language. And I'm not just saying that because I'm more inclined to colorful language, but because it makes the situation of four guys traveling together more believable: they're going to get sick of each other and they're going to rag on each other. Verbal combat will draw BLOOD. Just as it should. I just wish other publishers would save the polite and proper language among characters for the shojo, light comedies, and yaoi when applicable. Action oriented titles just FEEL violated when I read "DARN!" as a character's last exclamation when utter defeat is nigh. So very, very sad.

I'd have to say that Ragnarok (even though they left it at a cliffhanger and don't seem to be making anymore!:mad:), warcraft is pretty good, uh...bleach, chronicles of the cursed sword, rebirth, this new manga Kamui, juvenile orion, scrapped princess is pretty entertaining. Naruto, although at times it can be annoying and bleh...but yeah, back to the list...hmmm...oh, chrono crusade (awesome manga), sayuki's not too bad and suikoden III. Well, that's all i can think of right now. So, those are my top manga. But I'm a manga addict so eventually there will be more!!!!!!

For a very long time, Video Girl Ai was the top of my list by a long shot. I've found a few others recently, like Death Note and Cromartie High School, that would beat it. I've been enjoying most of the Del Rey series, but The Wallflower is probably the top of that bunch. And let's not forget the better entries in the CLAMP lineup, like Chobits, Cardcaptor Sakura, and the Tsubasa/XXX-Holic crossover.

My favourite Tokyo Pop licensed manga is Fruits Basket. Otherwise, it's Full Metal Alchemist. I like the art for both of the manga, and as far as FMA goes, I enjoy the current plot in it better than I did the anime (although I still love/d the anime!) Andy has a ton of my favorite titles on his list, including Basara (which I adore!), W Juliet and HYD. Doll is also fabulous, and I highly recconmend Mitsuhara's other work out in the US, "Beautiful People", if you liked Doll. She rocks so hard.

Petstop of Horrors was a weird series, but I still liked it. I think it's the only series I've read where I really got into a shounenai coupling, which is weird, because it's not technically shounenai. Although Count D is kinda weird to couple with anyone, in retrospect. I really liked that little kid, though.

It's cool to see some other Red River fans, too. That series is so good and addictive. If you're reading Red River, definitely check out Basara, too. Basara is like Red River but probably even better. Both series have heroines that kick some butt (although I think Basara's Tatara is a little more strong-willed than Yuri.)

I recently bought the PSME and Basara artbooks, cuz they is so f***king awesome.

When it comes to manga, I tend to gravitate more towards artists than particular series, so I'll list favorite artists instead:

Limiting my taste in manga to just one is actually hard to do. I have such a wide range in genres that I read that picking just one would not justify to the reasoning behind me liking another.

Looking over my "collection," I see such classics like Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z along side Video Girl AI, and then I have Battle Royale next to Dramacon, Mark of the Succubus and Sorcerers & Secretaries. Cardcaptor Sakura, I Lov Halloween and MegaMnan: NT Warrior also are mixed in.

Even if I just limited it to a listing of those that are complete or up-to-date, that would not help narrow the field. I read each one for different reasons; so trying to combine them into one playing field for me to pick the one above all doesn't really work. I cannot compare Battle Royale to Dramacon. There isn't a way to do that. But I like each one for different reasons.

So if you are asking what my favorite manga is, that would have to be the ones I read, the ones I study, the ones I live and experience the world the share. Those that give me a story that is compelling and entrancing, those are the manga I cherish.

There are so many manga titles that I love, but if I could only choose one, and that manga would have to support me for the rest of my life, it would have to be Naruto. It is my absolute favorite, filled with great characters with unique abilities, and a very awesome story. Especially later on in the series, during and after the Chunin Selection Exams.

Other titles I like include Death Note, FMA, Hikaru No Go, Bleach, Fruits Basket, Sakura Taisen, Girls Bravo, .Hack, and anything pertaining to the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise (right now I'm trying to get ahold of some of the Mobile Suit Gundam: Ecole Du Ciel series. The artwork is beautiful, and the story sounds great too). And the list just goes on and on.

I like the books i read. I read Fruits Basket, Gals, Pita-ten, S.O.S, and this other book i forgot. it's about a girl who found a disk from the future and then she turns to a singer or something and then she'd not suppose to tell anybody about the disk and she likes her best friend's brother etc. =)

i remember now it's call Mink and i also like this book called Ultra Maniac =)

my favorites right now are the entire .hack series (including the novels) and gunslinger girl (sorry tokyopop!). i like mangas with interesting backgrounds to them. huge rpg games, little cyborg girls used as assassins. interesting stuff like that.

Just wondering, why is that? A sense of loyalty; because you like how they bring over their manga; because they're the only titles you've coincidentally ended up liking or...?Not to speak for Nefertiti_Akito, but I would say that a sense of loyalty plays a large part in why I only buy manga from TOKYOPOP; that and the trade dress/design. And, just by coincidence, TOKYOPOP is the only domestic company that happens to have what I like -- and their OEL's is what I happen to like. And I'm able to read Japanese, so I really have no need to buy any translated titles...
