I need to buy a flash drive but I've never used one and I don't know what to get. They range in price from $15 to $80. 2G, 4G, 8G. Some come with "power boost" or "Skype" and other stuff that I don't know what it is. Well, I've heard of Skype but I don't use it or whatever. All I want to do is save documents to it. I use Vista and the ones I saw didn't even say Vista on it. Does that matter? I couldn't tell what "power boost" meant compared to ones that didn't have it. Some had virus protector things on it. And does brand matter? I was looking at Best Buy. As far as I could tell, one that was $28 was the same as the one that was $80 except the $80 one was GeekSquad. D:

I would go for this one. It has way more storage than I'd ever need. I can't believe that manufactuors are now loading crapware on flashdrives!! I"d buy this one and format the crap off of it and regain that space.

But it says Windows 2000 and XP. Will it work for Vista? That may be a dumb question but I seriously don't know computer stuff. I don't know how to format crap off of it. Will 1GB be fine for docs that are 250-300 pages? I have no idea. D:

@Nikitia - do you have Vista?

Taj, it should work fine with Vista. I use an 256mb flash drive with both xp and vista and it works fine. Just stick it in the usb jack and its good to go. BB has a 2 gb model if you want to save all your yaoi. I used to use mine to save fansubs of Rurouni Kenshin (I used to have a serious Kenshin thing). You can just delete the crapware(BOO to crapware!).

All flash drives work fine with Vista.

Personally I use a cheap 2gig drive that cost me about $20, and it's never been full, so I like it. No complaints etc.

I tend to avoid anything that claims to have stuff isntalled on it orm, liek, describes any addons. I don't know what it means and I don't trust it. ¬_¬

[edit]

That one Ross reccomended only has 1gig! That's tiny! T______T

Though, if I found one for Witch Hunter Robin that takes place after the anime ends, I might. :3

Okay, so it sounds like a 1G is really all I need, so cool! Thank you!!!!!!

@Toast - I don't think I saw any flash drives that didn't come with stuff already installed on it.

Seriously? Pre-installed crap seems to be an exception to the rule here.

I admit I have a habbit of just walking into computer stores and saying "I'd like a flash drive please" mind.

Maybe it's a way for them to bump up the price?

Aratos

Maybe.

Which is prett despicable when you can get most of that stuff free...

Yes, but people like me don't know any better.

There should be a consumer rights board to stop that sorta thing.

I lost an old SanDisk Drive a few months ago, it wasn't even 1GB.

After a while. I found a 1GB SanDisk Drive at school, I kept it.

Heh.

What a coincidence that they were made by the same company and that two people had lost their Drives. :p

I recommend getting at least a 4GB. Holds a lot of memory, and Skype is pretty much just another IM Program, but with calling services.

Nah.

My school is hardly known, and people there hardly carry FD's around.
