So we're doing a book report in english and we get to pick the topic and I'm thinking of doing Oscar Wilde, using two novels I think.
Definitely The Picture of Dorian Gray and maybe The Importance of Being Earnest just 'cause we did that play in school.

Does anyone know if they're good enough to write a six page paper on plus several smaller projects? (College, soundtrack, storyboard..)?

EH!?! why don't you do a report on the film, no'ones the wiser, that way you won't have to read it lol. (says the girl who can't sanely remember the last time she did english homework)

Noo lol Can't do that, they're totally different for one thing. We have to read through, quote passages, pick up symbolism if there is any, point out theme.. All that literary crap. It's AP English, I'll be murdered for not doing it right. Plus it just hurts me in the end. I sound like a geek but it's my last year in highschool and I need to do this right or I can fsck myself up lol

I've not read the importance, so I can't comment on that one. Dorian Gray's probably the best choice you could make though, imho. So full of symbolism, so controversial at the time, such a great ending...

Thank you so much! :D I've been trying to read it for a while and couldn't find it at the library, and still can't, but the projects encouraged me to look online and I found it there hahah.
I'm excited :x

I'm in the process of studying The Importance of Being Earnest now. If you give a a couple days I can get my notes and send some of it to you if you like. Also try sparknotes.com they're usually pretty good!

I remember having to read Dorian Gray, and I hated it, and I remember having to write a 5 pg thesis paper on Wilde, using Gray and a compilation of some of his other works, and I was absolutely miserable.

Dorian Gray was one of the most boring books I never finished reading. I thought The Importance of Being Earnest was far better.

Oh come on, it isn't that boring after abut half way through.
And besides, it's about a guy who makes a deal with the devil and gets eternal youth in exchange for his portrait growing old. How can you not like that theme?

I liked both of those, especially The Importance of Being Earnest x3 You should be fine doing a paper on either one ^^
