which do you like better
As much as I love meat, I'd prefer to eat a primarily vegetable-based diet, because it makes me feel better. Unfortunately, I rarely have a chance to do so. :(

When I move out, the only thing close to meat I will eat will be sea food. Though I'm not sure what the type of person that does not eat meat but consumes un-fertilized eggs and milk is, since eggs and milk are mearly products of the animal's. Not the actual animal.

I am iffy on eating eggs. I have no problem with milk... But I don't drink it since I I hate the taste... I like it in foods though... -shrugs.- I belive if the animal has to die... I will take no part in eating it. I rather take a human life then a cute little cows life. o_o;

omnivore. For one thing, both meat and veg are neccesary for a good balanced diet, and for another, the way I see it is that if we weren't meant to eat animals then they wouldn't be made of meat.

Allow me to note how wrong this poll is!
Now! Vegans do not use animal products at all and are in themselves an complete and different "vore".
Vegetarians eat vegetables but usually use animal products but will not eat red meat. That means that usually vegetarians eat fish or chicken but not all vegetarians do.
Haves a nice day.

Animals are here for the eatin'. If you don't, they'll eat you first. YEAH. >8|
Seriously though, while you can get plenty of nutrients from vegetables, I see no reason to not eat meat because, oh no, cute animals are getting slaughtered. At that point, I hope you're against squishing spiders and ants as well because it's quite disrepectful to a creature to deem its life less worthy because it's not fluffy and "cute." Clearly, this is my opinion.
In short, both equally! Both are delicious.

Meat. I don't mind the vegetarians who consider it their own personal preference, but the ones who try to force their leafy diets on me are annoying. It's not like I stalk the neighborhood and devour all the dogs I find running around in peoples' yards.
I will eat vegetables and fruit, I just don't like them as much.

I'm a solid carnivore. When I was little I used to eat anything but now I'm so picky about vegetables... I live on a farm so the "animals + kill= food" concept doesn't bother me. :o It's just the way life works, 99.99% of living things have to kill and eat other living things to survive, be they animal or vegetable, and you kill various micro-organisms by breathing... So I don't get it if people become vegetarian or vegan simply because they don't want to kill living things. But if it's more a matter of taste--like for my mother--that's fine! I know I shouldn't be eating all that meat because it makes me sick, but organic meat doesn't do that, so I figure it's the antibiotics and stuff they put in it.
And by the way I recommend trying kinpira, which is a Japanese dish of carrot and burdock. It's very good.

This is going to sound kind of lame.
i've always liked fruits and vegetables and all,but i went through a phase when i was 14 that i would become a vegetarian just because my favourite lead singer(AT THE TIME) was a vegan. And if you want to know what his name was it was Daniel johns of Silverchair.it was a very brief period but this thread reminded me of it.

I LOVE MEAT.
srsly. Sometimes if I go without it for a couple of days I start getting a craving. I love vegetables too, but not to the extent that I do meat. I couldn't imagine life without red meat and chicken.
I do not like fish/seafood, for the most part. I'll eat fresh-caught tuna (which doesn't taste at all like fish :D), and shrimp if it's in something like ceviche where the lemon and other ingredients drown out the taste, but otherwise I don't touch anything that comes out of the sea.
nicolepalmer: Hey, tons of people do the same thing. One of my younger and one of my older sisters got their inspiration for their vegitarianism the same way. As long as you don't admit it to anyone when you're older, you're okay. ;)

I will eat both but mainly i dont eat either.
Usually i eat fruit and bread and junkfood .
Im with Pomander if you are gonna be a vegan than dont kill all the spiders in your house 'cause you are saying that they are insignifigant. Im a really bad example of this 'cause i eat meat and save the poor little spiders. I see it as the spiders must be more important otherwise they would be big enough for dinner.

Meat! Couldn't live with out it. Beef! Chicken!
Steak is great; I like it medium/medium well, so my sister (not a vegetarian) hates watching me it eat, saying it's still alive.
I eat very few veggies; just not my thing.

I was a vegetarian - completely by accident! - until the age of about eleven, so I've never really got into the habit of eating lots of meat, other than the occasional English Breakfast or slice of bacon in a sandwich.
The idea of eating, say, a big steak really makes me feel a little sick.
I suppose if I was really trying to be healthy that month, the closest I'd get to carnivorous was to be a pescatarian.

"Both equally?" *blinks*
Anyway.... I'm a vegetarian. No, not the kind that pushes vegetarianism into everyone's face. I really don't care if you eat meat or not; your life, your choice. I get really annoyed with the vegetarians that are so extreme about it. Then again, I also get annoyed with the non-vegetarians that go on about how you're going to get sick or die from it. Both annoy me equally.

this being my first 'reply' thing, i figured i'd make it worth-while. ^_^
i read a lot of things that were... how to say it... incorrect or assumptions, i'm a veggie-head, that HATES vegies, and like poisin sunrise, i don't care if you eat meat, you can do whatever you want, and i don't force my opinions on people, but when they start goin' off about how good meat is, i do tend to start goin off about factory farming and preservetives and all that... just because i love a good debate ^_^
what i hate most though, is when someone who eats meat thinks it's funny to shove it down a veggie's throat, or put it in their food, that just makes me angry!! stupid poopie-people!!

Like the amount of steriods(sp) cows and chickens are injected with. The hormones in meat are extreamly bad, and have... ummm... intresting effects on young females. ( I'm not very sure if TOKYOPOP wants me to go into that publicly on the board.) Along with the ways they are slaughtered are extreamly un-healthy as well. - But on the other hand, if you go and eat Organic grown meat, most of the time, the animals are in a cage free envrioment, said to taste better, and do not have the nasty side effects to girls. - Although... I still do not eat meat and I try to eat a lot of organic veggies. I just love animals to much to eat them. I am going on my 5th or 6th year now.

I hate brocoli! I but there are a lot of other things you can eat. To be honest.... Hamburgers made of soy are much better then ones made of meat. Before I stopped eating meat, all I ate was meat. because i love animals so much & didn't like the idea of eating them after i saw how they were slaughtered (& you can't make excuses saying that YOU didn't kill it & it will go to waste if you don't eat it because if more & more people didn't eat meat then they wouldn't even be killed in the 1st place) was a vegetarian for 6 months & vegan for the next 6 months a few years ago. wasn't so hard. as long as you have the right ingredients & recepe (ok i know i spelled that wrong). went back to meat eating to gain weight due to weighing only like 90 pounds. will try to become vegetarian but not vegan in the near future for my beliefs. but it's forgivable to eat meat because we are meat eaters just as there are other animals that are meat eaters. i mean why is it right for the animals to eat animals but not humans who are also a type of animal to eat animals?

I'm a vegetarian, but I live with a very meat oriented family, we do live on a farm, after all. I still eat eggs and milk, but I'm very picky about it. I grew up knowing how to tell if a chicken or cow was treated right from the product, that's why I always look for thick egg shells and only buy from my local dairies, where I know the cows are taken care of.
I'm a vegetarian because I myself am uncomfortable with eating other animals, but I believe people have every right to eat meat, it's natural. Living in the age that we do, we're lucky enough to have the means to customize our diets to get what we need and allow us to be vegetarian if we'd like. I also believe that, vegetarian or not, people usually don't eat to get what they need, but what they want. So, I think whether or not either diet is good for someone all depends on that someone's commitment to making sure they have a good diet.
Right, I'm done rambling

I'm a vegetarian. It's wrong to eat animals. An I disagree that we should have the right to eat them. Physiologically we have more in common with herbivores, than carnivores, or omnivores. If it were natural for us to eat meat, that wouldn't be the case.

shame on you, making a comment like that, how dare you say people have every right to eat meat? why! what, here it is in other words, they have every right to kill and slaughter innocent animals. how is that ok? why do you even think its natural? its not natural, people just started eating it years ago, and still do, that doesnt make it natural, if it was natural youd wake up in the morning practically craving the taste of meat and blood. and saying living in the age that we do, what are you talking about? more like living in the age that we do, people shouldnt be allowed to kill them. yes, im a vegetarian, and all round animal lover. and i dont beleive a single animal should be hurt in anyway.

If we're working on the belief that God created everything, an he wanted us to eat animals, why are we physically catered towards a herbivorous diet? Since you know what God is thinking, I'm sure you'll have no problem coming up with an answer for that one. YEAH? I SUPPOSE THATS WHY ANIMALS EVOLVED MILLIONS OF YEARS BEFORE HUMANS EVEN CAME ABOUT IS IT?An that too.

I've been a vegan for the past four and a half years. It took a lot of adjustment, but in the end it's definitely been worth it. I have tons more energy, my cholesterol and blood pressure levels are well below where they should be, and I'm a lot more focused in everything I do. If it's something you're considering, I'd wholeheartedly recommend it.
If you decide that going vegan is for you, I'd recommend first doing your research (there are lots of great resources on the internet) instead of just jumping in headfirst. A lot of people I know who tried to convert that way were back to their old eating habits in less than a month.
Give it a chance, your body will thank you.

Also, why are people answering that they're both vegetarian/vegan and a meat eater? There is no inbetween, you either eat meat or you don't.
