As a home system, my Playstation 2 gets a lot of love. I think it has the best game selection.
When it comes to portability, I use my Nintendo DS. It comes to school with me everyday. <3

From the chocies given, GC ftw. I don't like the XBox controller, or choice of games and I just don't like most of the PS2 games that aint avialble on otehr platforms anyway. Plus I'm a Mario fan.

i like the PC because of URU and Sims 2, but i haven't played them yet, i have them, but my computer well is a stupid peace of junk. so till i get a new PC i enjoy my slimline ps2 on a 27 inch it is heaven. and for the car, i use to take my ps2 but we got a new car so no TV in it, that was the only good thing about the old car. i have an Xbox but it is gone, it went on ebay.

I have a NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Xbox, Gamegear, Gameboy Color, GBA, GBA SP, DS, PSP. As for my favorite, it has to be my SNES. My PSP, although not my favorite, is especially awesome because of ROMS and all the anime I convert.

Best console, hands down, is the SNES. It was the heyday for good RPGs. Many PS1 RPGs sold out to the mainstream, as stories were less rivoting, games less challenging, but they looked pretty... *grumbles* Secondly would be the NES, if only for reviving the market into what it is today. (I can't say from experience, since I was 3, but for those who remember the crash and burn of the Atari/Colecovision/etc era, Nintendo had a tough sale to get itno stores at all.) Plus it sparked my RPG kindling with Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy.
Handhelds, it's the DS, no question. I've not been this addicted to gaming since the... SNES! My system is almost never turned off anymore, unless I'm changing the game...

I would have to say that the DS is my favorite gaming console. It's great.
It's about the only thing I play lately. :p
Also really love the PS2. It has some sweet games. The SNES was definitely great. Aah, who am I kidding. It's too hard to choose a favorite console. I love 'em all so much. ^___^

My favorite now is easily the PS2. I <had> the PS1, X-box(for about a month), Nes, Snes, N64, Gameboy(still have), still have the GAmecube(because of Zelda and REsident Evil), Dreamcast(Has anybody played D2?), and SEga Genesis. My cousins use to have an atari that I would play when I went over to their house, and later a Jaguar(anybody remember that, Aliens vs. Predator?). My friends had all the handheld gaming systems that I was never really interested in. I am however interested in the DS because of the Castlevania series.
PS2, my only discrepancy is the fact that I can't ever manage to save PS1 stuff when I'm playing those games on there. Close second? GB Color, I'm sorry but it's a classic

I had that problem to at first, but the secret is to just use a PSOne memory card. I just started playing FFVII again and it saves fine.
I've tried that. May be my PS2's just stupid, but it won't ever let me save from FFIX. Of course maybe it's because I was using a scratched disc... Oh I don't know. If it works I'll take your word for it. Can we load from the card onto the PS2 if it was originally saved on the PS1?

I'm not really sure if you have it already saved on PSONE. I sold all my memory cards in the PSOne when I bought a PS2, but it should work. I bought a special used pelican memory card and all, I just managed to load FFVII in fact. I bought Blood Omen-Legacy of Kain for PSOne to save on the PS2, and when I found I couldn't save my game I sold it. Then I went to Game Stop (originally Funcoland) and they sold me a PSOne memory card would work. My advice is to keep trying. Sorry.
Laenavesse
04-14-2006, 09:37 PM
Yeah PS2 is completely backwards compatable. The PS2 memory card, however, is not. You can play, load, AND save PS1 games, you just have to have a PS1 memory card to do so. You can't save it on a PS2 memory card.
Fumi, you might want to try saving it on a PS1 and see if it works and also try to see if you can save a different PS1 game. It should work and it may be because your disc is scratched o-o

I'm split between the PS1 and SNES. Both had multiple genres represented, and many PS1 games were continued over from the SNES(Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter[yes, I know that the SF series was multi-port. But the SNES and PS1 both received more SF titles than the competition], Star Ocean, Tales of ___, etc.).
Amusing how the PS1 was more of the SNES' sucessor than the N64 was.
I think I'll try the disc thing. I'm thinking about actually finishing FFVII. That IS amusing though Holy Dragon Sword. Too bad I know nothing about SNES PS1 was my first game console
Thanks for being so supportive ^_^

Now? I'm not really sure.
The Wii, X-Box 360 are both awesome. As for the PS3, it's currently not doing so well but it's the game line-up that's bugging me. That and the puny hard drive that it contains.
The price in the other hand isn't that much of a problem anymore. Sony will soon drop the price to maybe 50 to 100 dollars so that's great news.
Ok so here's a question: If you do not have ANY system and you're wondering which system to get first then I would highly suggest the X-Box 360. Second would be the Nintendo Wii (since Nintendo will be releasing new variant colors for the Nintendo Wii with some extras), and last but not least, the Playstation 3 due to it's line up. I guarantee that Sony will release numerous of awesome games soon.
Recommended games for systems:
X-Box 360
Halo 3, Blue Dragon, Dead Rising, & Naruto: Rise of the Ninja
Nintendo Wii
Well by Christmas, the most anticipated game will be released: Super Smash Bros Brawl so yeh.
PS3

Besides, the variant colors are awesome. It's the same as with the Nintendo DS. You get the color that represents who you are or to show off a different color rather than just plain old white.

Huh?
Xbox 360's HD is around 120 gb.
Oh wait I was thinking about the Elite. Right the premium is around 20 gbs.
See the Elite (which contains 120gb) is 459.99 while the PS3 60hd is 499.99.

If you like shooters. ^^
All joking aside. 360 does have some decent games, I guess, but nothing I'm really interested in, other than Eternal Sonata. Out of the current next gen systems, though, it's probably the best.
I do a lot of gaming research in my spare time, and here's what I've come up with so far. Of course, depending on how well the Wii and PS3 do this may change in the near future.
1-360: I personally don't care for any of the games, but even I have to admit the 360 has some top selling games that are apparently stellar.
Unfortunately, the 360 has very little support over in Japan and most of the games being made by Japanese companies for the 360 seem to also be available on the PS3. Some people may not care about that, and that's fine, but because of that, 360 gamers can't expect as much Japanese support as the Wii and PS3 get.
2-Wii: Support is high for the Wii, but unfortunately most of the games being made for the Wii are mediocre PS2 ports. But there are a few stellar titles out there like Metriod, Mario, RE4, Zelda (even though it's a port), and there are a lot of titles coming out in the near future that make the Wii look more promising (Dragon Quest, FF, No More Heroes, Samba de Wii, Super Smash Bros Brawl, etc).
3-PS3: got some OK games, but nothing completely stellar that you can't get on the 360. The future DOES look good for the PS3 support wise with all the big franchises, DMC, FF, MGS, making their way onto the system, but other than that support is still low.
Keep in mind that these statistics are based on games made, not consoles sold. If that were the case, Wii and 360 would be fighting for first, with Wii slightly ahead.

Now I have a Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advanced, Gameboy Advanced SP, Nintendo DS, and a PlayStation 2. I like my PS2, I guess, but I'm going to have to say my Gamecube. The Gamecube doesn't have the library that the PS2 does, but in general I like the system better. It runs faster, load times are practically non-existent, and it has superior graphics to the PS2. It's just a shame it got overshadowed by the PS2's success.
The Wii is great too, but they don't have an option for that. Ah well.
