Since you live in Calgary you could go to Otafest, which is happening May 21 - 22 (apparently they couldn't book the gym for the dealers room on Sat... at least that is what I heard.

And if you don't mind Edmonton (for some reason a lot of people I've talked to from Calgary don't like Edmonton =/...) Animethon 13 is avalible for you. It's the largest and longest running anime convention in western Canada. That will be happening July 8 to the 9.
