About Conventions

I've never had the pleasure of going to a convention, although I was hoping to get to one this year. So, anybody who's been to one, got any advice or things I should be prepared for? Thanks, y'all!

well if you plan on cosplaying be prepared to be attacked by ppl who will want to take your picture a million times over (well if your costume is good, ppl take pictures of just about anything, if itz a popular character i guess). Have ALOT of money with you, never go to a convention without money, they have dealers rooms which you will find many things you'll want to buy (at least if your like me). I usually save up money for conventions..for the main one I go to (anime weekend atlanta) i usually bring like..$300-$400..most spent on manga tho..^^; but conventions usually have cheaper manga so that explains stuff. Oh and stuff is always cheaper on the last day. I think that's about it..besides, enjoy it and have fun? lol.

be nice to the staff (hotel and con)
do research before the con (like look up the panel schedual before the con...they usually post it the weekend before)
bring tons of money (you'll spend it all)
be nice to people (and cosplayers...you're talking to a cosplyer here ^-^)
bring lots of film (if ya don't have a digital camera)
bring your own food and water (tho some cons have a rule agaist out side food and water...so you may have to sneak it in)
check if they have a con sueit (a place that gives out free snacks for con goers)
join the message board for that con (many cons have a message board) you'd be suprised what gets planed or announced (and many times, you can clear up rule issues and such) on the message boards and not anounced on the program or to the whole con (informal events, like parties, gatherings, and such)
and just have fun ^-^
