And it's not too tall to fit through a door, so it'll make it in the house just fine. And....they're giving these away to us commoners, right?

Meh. Big TVs are overrated if you ask me. I like smaller screens (kinda). My Computer monitor is a great size (though sometimes I wish it was a bit smaller). Having that thing in the living room would be like sitting in the very front row at a movie theatre. You'd have a broken neck by the end of the week for starters.

Yeah I don't get how 1080 lines of resolution is supposed to look good on one of these things? Something that size is going to need to display 4K lines or summat. Heck if I were going to want a TV this big I'd get a projector.

Nikitia regular old TVs can display 480 lines of information. The computer screen you're using is probably displaying at least 600 or 768 lines. HDTVs can display either 720 or 1080 lines of data.
The HDTV specification was created in the early 90's (I believe) when TV's were about 27" and square.
When you take the larger HDTV number of lines, 1080, and stretch them to the size of that TV you either need to use really big dots on these lines or put space between them.
I don't know if this makes it any clearer. I hope it does.

Hmm. Then I want that big TV when it has more lines than 1080. :biglaugh:

My brother has one. It's awesome (even on textured wallpaper so long as it's white-ish). I think he got it pretty cheap too because it needed to be repaired or something.

I'd love to hook up my PS2 to that thing. That'll probably cause a couple of seizures. http://www.singaporebrides.com/forumboard/clipart/kao_dizzy.gif
