Hiromu Arakawa appreciation topic! She's my personal favourite mangaka; I love her style of drawing and how well planned out she makes the Full Metal Alchemist story line. I'd really like to be able to meet her someday (does anyone know if she ever goes to conventions or anything?)

I agree, had it not been for her there never would have been an envy or a ling! mwahahahahaha (envy/ling fanboy)

Ling! Not too many people like him. I'm really disappointed that he wasn't in the anime. :(

Everyone, bow down to H.A. for creating Ling!:p

Unfortunately, I don't download much manga, so I don't know who Ling is. I've heard of him though... could someone help me out?

Ever since I got into FMA, I've wanted to read the manga and now that I am, I barely download that manga but either way, it has to be one of the best I've read so far. Not only that, it has some good bishes too!

Kookylaski: Yes, many wonderful bishies! *drools* She [Hiromu] just likes to tease her fangirls, doesn't she? :P (Aww.. little Gaara! I love your avatar... Gaara was so cute when he was younger!)

Meroku Yui: Ling is the Prince of Shin (Xing? I've seen different scanlations with different names), which is a country across the desert. (The desert is west of Amestris.)

The rest is kind of a spoiler, so if you want to read it go ahead. [spoiler]
He came from Shin/Xing searching for a way to immortality so that he can rule for a long time (or something along those lines.. I'd have to go back and read). He comes with his two bodyguards, Ran Fan and Fu, who are part of a family that is trained just for the purpose of guarding the royal family.

His first introduction is that Al finds him and Ed/Al pay for a HUGE amount of food he eats when he wakes up. But I'm pretty sure the whole 'nearly dead when you found me' thing was an act, because he does it another time in the manga.

Other than that, he's 15, and is a lot taller than Ed. XD [spoiler end]

*stares at Ling picture and appreciates her artwork...* :P

WEEEEEEE!!! Thankies!!! Indeed, chibi Gaara is indeed kawaii!! My other fave is Kiba and he was adorable when he was little too.

Moving on to the topic, I must agree with you on the teasing. Edo, Roy and Havoc are my fave bishes in the manga and Ling looks to be a very interesting character...

um did anyone else think Hiromu Arakawa was a guy at first?

I was really surprised (sorta) to find out that she was female. o.o
but FMA rocks.
Oh yeah, anyone have info about "stray dogs" her manga before Fullmetal? I searched all over but nothing u.u

At first I also that Hiromu Arakawa was a guy and when I bought the english anime DVD(Vol. 4 just in case) I read that she was a female and I started to dance around. I couldn't believe that a female manga-ka could create an action manga so well as FMA. (If there's more action writting female manga-ka, awesomeness!!! That goes out of the typical flowery type thing they associate girls with...)

I also thought Hiromu Arakawa was a male... I got a real shock when I read a summary on who SHE was.
*points to username* I love Fullmetal Alchemist... And it would be awesome to meet her in real life and get an autograph or something. *thanks Hiromu Arakawa for creating Fullmetal Alchemist*

XD Yes, lots of bishounen in her stories aren't there? Envy, Edward, Roy, Havoc, Alphonse, Russell, etc...
It amazes me that she can draw so well, AND make such a complex and wonderful story too.
