Kisa's hairstyle is pretty normal tho, so I don't think it would be that extreme to cut your hair like hers? It's a REALLY cute haircut too!!! Would you be dying your hair the same color? Cause then I guess that would depend for if it looks great or not on your skin color. ^_^ Hope that helps!

Hm, well, my sister and I plan on getting hair cuts simular to Ritsuka's from LOVELESS, though with a variation for each of us (long layered bangs for me, shorter, more Ritsuka-like bangs for her). We'll tell you how it goes after yeah? ^__^

I was going to go for a similar color- but was thinking of making the longer front parts either darker or lighter- not to complete rip off the style! I think I can pull off the color- I've got bronze highlights right now and they don't look bad. I will do a before and after picture as well promise- I haven't made the appointment with my stylist I have to make up my mind before I go in...

And Rem Akimichi defently do a before and after- maybe I'll go that way instead! I bet it will look good!

Heh, certainly! I have a whole bunch of pics of us with our long hair right now. We both have it really long; Her's is to her waist! And mines mid-back. It's such a hassle. We probably won't be getting the cuts until I get my next check, so nothing for a few more weeks u_u But I'll be sure to post pics when we do! ^__^

@ Haleth, sounds good. I personally think that if the two long strands are darker that would look really good. Kisa's hairstyle would be easy to keep up too... it's such a hassle putting to much time into hair. Plus, if it was in pigtails or a ponytail with the longer front.... such cuteness. XD

I recently cut my hair really short (see avatar). It used to be down to my waist, but I wanted a big change, plus now it's easier to cosplay boy characters! :3 For instance, I'm cosplaying Watanuki...

If you really want the haircut I say go for it. Hair grows anyway. :3

wigs are sometimes stressful to put on, and hot for the head! I had to wear a pink wig for my red mage cosplay. @_@

Go for it. I'm getting my haircut tommorrow. Not after any particular animanga character style, but almost a blend of those I love best. I have long hair and it annoys me so much, so i'm gonna get them to hack it off. I love Japanese street fashion style. OMG, have you ever looked at the book called 'Fruits' it's so cool, full of J street fashion and a bit of cosplay too.

Anyhoo, live life to the fullest make mistakes, and sugoidesuyo's right hair grows back anyway. :)

I've been looking for it everywhere! It's quite expensive(the photobooks). A subscription to the magazine isn't too costly. I just bought an e-book version of issues 1-50 of Fruits magazine on ebay. Woo! Only £4!

Fruits is available at bookstores like Borders, and Japanese bookstores like Kinokuniya. ^^ The english collection is about $30 per book though. ^^; So maybe e-bay would be cheaper. I usually buy Japanese fashion magazine at Kinokuniya for around $10-$15. :3

I'm planning on getting my hair cut to a kind of sasuke-like hair type..least for when I go to the convention (dressing up as ANBU sasuke). Tho, it won't be like his..i'm a girl so i don't want my hair to be that short..oO''..just doing it like this one asian girl did when she dressed up as sasuke..I think itz a fun thing to do though, experiment with your hair, and if ppl think ithe anime thing iz weird, don't tell them itz from an anime.

You should definately go for it.
I have a anime-ish hair cut but it wasn't cut after a specific character. I have short bangs in the front, longer bangs on each side of my face, and the rest goes to the middle of my back. Hmm...I forget how long my hair is sometimes.
I was thinking of cutting it like Blue's hair from Wolf's Rain though.

I used to have freakin' awesome hair. It was longish poofy and pink. Then purple, then this pink/purple/red/silver mix, then silvery blondish, then blue. I could do so many things with it and I could pool off animeish spiky hair. Sadly I was bribed to cut it. Now its short and blueish. I'm just waiting for it to grow back. So yeah anime hair styles are awesome.

I cut my hair to cosplay as Yuna from FFX (yeah, I know it's not anime, but same difference).

It suits me really well, so much in fact that was three years ago and I haven't changed the style since. Except my version is a little longer.

Just remember when looking to get your hair cut like a character's: the more pictures you have the better, especially from the sides and back. Front shots are ok, but remember you have other sides of your head too.

I'm thinking of having a fringe again. So many anime and manga characters that I like have such cool hairstyles, but a lot of them require a fringe. so I'm probably going to keep bangs just in front of my ears and cut the rest of my fringe short. Maybe I'll straighten it too....curls can be such a pain!

I made copies of all the diffrent angles I could find of her hair- i think my stylist will find me odd when I make her look at the manga to do the cut! It should be pretty amusing- she's not from idaho orginally so I think she'll understand! :D

i think it's a cool idea. i've been wanting to get my hair styled like an anime character's, but it's brown, long, and thick. all i can do is pull it back in a ponytail before rushing off to school. hmmm... I wonder which anime hairstyle I could do, or at least attempt to pull off? AK would kill me if I got my hair cut short. :D

i don't think i would cut my hair even for cosplay. even if it does grow back, i will still feel incomplete (oh the drama!).

i still think you should go for it. a lot of idaho people that i know are otaku, be they minor fans or the ones that plan to take over the world with their armies of bishounen (no, seriously, i know someone who wants to do that...) :eek:

Personally, I would say go for it. Kisa has an adorable hair style, and it's not like its so crazy that people would be like, "... what did you do to your hair?!" I've thought about cutting my hair like hers as well, but my mom totally said no. Anyways, if you do cut your hair like yours, you should go all out and dye it the kind of goldish color that Kisa has. It's a really pretty color!

I love japanese hair styles! Too bad I can't have one. Big changes are not very welcome at my school. Most people stays the same in my group(so they called themselves my "friends") so they won't get kick. My true friends would probable just laugh and joke about it. But do I really want to risk giving a bad name to my group?

Mine isn't for cosplay really. I just like unique hair cuts, and though talented my stylist is, not very creative left on her own- so i've got to bring in pictures. So while looking at pictures anime came to mind. And i thought I'd get oppinions. People cosplay in Idaho? Where? And I am glad I am not alone!

just recently the Anime Oasis V con was held in Boise. I didn't get to go, but it was supposed to be really good. i'm considereing getting my hair cut like an anime character too. but all the ones i've looked at wouldn't work. :(

You know I saw that somewhere online no doubt- And I wanted to go but I couldn't find anyone to go with me- and i'm not sure i could go by myself. But that would have been a good place to get ideas. Well maybe you could addapt something so it would be a tribute but original in its own right?

No one I know has an anime cut, but a girl I know has really thick short hair and it is orange on the top and the back is black (her real colour). Though, she didn't want it orange, she wanted to have it purple. :)

I really want anime hair, especially the color. Herbal Essence used to have a color called "Purple Haze" which was perfect (purple black -- you know how there's that hair color that is so black, that it reflects blue? It's like that, except purple instead of blue), but it looks like they discontinued it.

I would like to cut my hair in an anime style, but I'm not sure who I would like to style mine after. right now it looks sort of like Kagura's from Fruits Basket, so it's pretty plain. And I might end up keeping it this way, just haven't decided.
I did go in to have mine cute like this one picture I found once, but, my stylist totally didn't cut it that way, made me sad. Maybe my mom secretly told her not to do it . . I could see her doing that <;-;>

my friends decided on Friday that I have "Mitsuki" hair (Full Moon fans know who I mean) cuz of the curls at the end and it's long and brown. all 4 of us sort of have anime hair. Like, AK has hair that kinda looks like Ayame's from Furuba minus the silver color an the bangs. Fruits Basket has cute hair styles, especially Kisa's.

So the day came and went and we tried it, it was a no go so now its a lot like selphie's from final fantasy 8. Maybe with another color it would have been better. :) but its nice to have shorter hair now- and i think I can style it like Blue's from wolf's rain. :)

I've been wanting to get my hair cut short like Kyo's for a while, but my anime-geek friend that got me into FB and all sorts of other manga said I should cosplay Tohru for Halloween. And I am! Maybe my hair will be as long as in the manga. It's already mid-back. I could be a blonde Tohru (I can see her being blonde! :P) or just dye it brown. I wanted to dye my hair blue, but Mom said no *roll eyes* I can't see a problem with dying my hair brown. And I'll see if I can get my hair as long as Aaya's. There's another bet! I'm a sucker for bets :P

I once considered starting an "anime hair salon" because I got sick of people thinking I'm crazy when I bring in a new picture and say "I WANT THIS ONE!"

Last year it was Momiji from Fruits Basket.

This year it was Sasuke from Naruto.

If you saw a company like that, would you guys go?

I agree.

The day I got my "Sasuke haircut", I came home to find over 3000 worth of manga and anime gone...

my mother freaked out, called me... many degrading terms, and said I looked like a boy.

Considering Sasuke's haircut looks kind of feminine, I really could care less.

And seeing that I, personally, can only see the front, the back doesn't bother me.
oh, but if you like how it looks on you then you should be proud :cool: don't listen to what people say. My mother is always complaining about my anime addiction, but I don't really listen to what she says. If I become a manga-ka she'll become nuts about it!

Hm... the front looks pretty freaking sweet, and the back... well my stylist made it... a bit too short.. more like pre-chuunin exam, but my hair is kinda wavy.

I straighten the front to make it look all... emo-like, and the back, I have to let it dry, straighten it, adn then gel it spiked back to make it more look like his.

One problem, the stylist said that it would "look weird" if I cut too much for the short part *the back* so instead of leaving everything before my ear "long", she started from the back of my ear to make it choppy in the back.

So I have to get it redone soon, because I try to wear my headband like Sasuke but the hair in front doesnt all fit over it.. T-T

Hm... it really depends on what your idea of "short" is.

I was actually trying to grow out my hair *cuz it was a little less than shoulder length* to pull of an Akito *fruits basket* haircut... but then I got into Naruto and I was like.. OMFG I WANT SASUKES HAIR!!

Kisa is a good one, it was what I was going to do but my bone structure wasn't right for it. I was thinking the God/prince of War from saiyuki's hair was cool- but its pretty much a bob. I like blue's from wolf's rain to. And they have killer products out there to make your hair do anything. Aveda has these strips of like super wax that rock. Hold your hair up all day anyway- tricky to use at first and kinda pricey.

That is a cool idea :D But one thing!!!! First lok what kind of hair do you have. Why? Because hair act differently and may not look the way you wanted it too (best: ask the hairdresser, they usually know what they're saying.)
Also: be carefull with the shape of your face! Some hairstyles make some faces look.. bad.
Heh, actually my fringe is cut similarly to Kenshin from first OVA :D (though my hair at the back of the head are waaay longer) and last summer I've let it grow for Edward Elric cosplay. No I'm letting it grow again (to Eds), though I may get mad and cut it back again... (they're getting in my eyes)

I was considering cosplaying Sasuke (settled on Ed though) still I have looong hair (down to the lower end of the... to the beggining of legs) and I htought to have the fringe righ way (the same as Ed, heeh) and just tie hair in the back making ends stick out. Maybe you should try that?

man, I haven't been here for a while.

right now I'm really into Ashura's hair (RG Veda), Full Moon's hair (FMoS), Freya's (Chobits), and Gigei's hair (RG Veda), esp. Ashura's. I just have to grow out my hair long enough and muster the courage to get bangs again.
Aaya's hair rocks! I so want hair like him.

I've been thinking about getting a LOVELESS haircut lately, specifically Soubi or Ritsuka.

Right now I'm kinda growing my hair out to look like Rin's from
Fruits Basket, but not completly like hers. That would be too long.
I already have the really dark hair so I don't have to dye my hair
or anything. But right now it probably looks more like Tifa's hair
from Final Fantasy.

My hair is an uncurled version of Tomoyo-chan's hair or a let-down style of Meiling's.... except mine might be longer than Meiling's bepending on HOW she puts up her hair. EExcept my bangs are barely long enough to put behind my ears because I hated them short cause they looked weird... my bangs are to my chin, some side strands (like Inuyasha's side strands to cover his ears) are to my shoulders but most is from my bum to my mid-thigh... I can sit on it.

Cloud from Final Fantasy VII without about three hundred dollars worth of gel

Acttualy I have a friend who pulled it off (FFVII Cloud) for less than 5 bucks worth of styling gel. But it took about 5hrs of molding, shaping, tweaking & drying <chuckle>... But it looked farily close, it was the best I have seen without the use of a wig.

I suppose if you wanted to go old school punk rock method you could use Elmers(tm) Glue to make the hairstyle, it would stay for between several weeks to a couple months... But your hair will get disgusting afterwhile because you can't really wash it using that method.

I always wanted to have anime hair that's why i grew my hair out, then i just started to get my hair braided cause i got curly hair, but when i get out the shower my hair goes all they way down to my chin, it kinda looks cool. wish i had stright hair.
I have long,straight, silky-like hair. It's cool until you tie them up and after an hour they tend to unbraid/untwist/getu out of the bun/generally make your hair pins/whatever you tied the with slip down and, eventually fall...
I like them nevertheless ^^

ya, I know they tend to get unbraided cause my brother gots stright hair and he grew his hair out to get braids like me but everytime my friend would braid his hair when she was half way done it will start to unbraid itself. alot of people told me they wan't curly hair like mine, but i still kinda want stright hair.

I did straighten my hair before, about 4/5 months ago when my hair went to my nose and i really my brother said i look like a little chinese boy mix with a little indain.:o but i'm thinkin abut straighten it again to see if it looks different with longer hair.

But still straightened hair isn't the same as straight. Just like curling your hair won't make them the same as natural curly ones.

I'm thinking on getting a haircut that's a mix between Sasuke and Tomonori's(from Juvenile Orion). Considering I'm a girl, everyone at my school's gonna freak. Especially the anime-phobic people. THis one guy in my class is going to faint or something if I do it. I don't think my parents are going to care, they want me to cut my hair because it takes such a long time to wash and dry completely(if I don't use conditioner it's hell to brush out). I might get it done in China, but I'm still hesitant because I have long Hanajima-style(just not as curly, it's slightly wavy) hair down to my waist. I'd have to chop off at least a foot of hair for anything close to a Sasuke haircut, although it would look as cool as hell. I'm wondering if a Sasuke haircut would look alright if the back bit just hung down, not choppy and sticking up or anything? Could I still wear a gothic lolita outfit with it?

I've been growing my hair for about 8 years now so I could eventually have a proper Duo Maxwell braid, which means EVENTUALLY I'm going to have to dye my hair his reddish mousey brown. Right now, my hair reaches just under my butt, and my bangs are long enough to form a small tail when I pull my hair up in a high ponytail.

It used to be all about the Duo braid in the beginning, but I missed having super long hair. I can do just about anything with it, it's nice and healthy, I don't torture it with gels or hairsprays. Just wash with a simple extra conditioning kids shampoo in the winter and use normal conditioner, then a little hair oil in my brush with the hair dryer. During summer, kids shampoo with extra bounce, same conditioner, comb it out, and air dry.

I will have my Duo braid! *pose* X3

i would love to get an 'anime' haircut but i don't think i could pull it off... when i was younger i had some crazy hairstyles...huge spikes and dyed it red, black, blue, purple, pink, blonde (not all at the same time though)... i dont think i'd get away with that sorta thing nowadays, probably lack the confidence.

thinking of getting it cut with a bit of a fringe and long bits at the front, with choppy shorter bits at the back... its just a bit too dull and boring at the moment and makes me think...bleurgh. gonna dye it bright red too i think. or black. or both =^_^=

I tried to get my hair done like yuna's in FFX-2 I took a picture to the salon and everything. It look really cool when I come out but when I washed I couldnt get it to look the same no matter what I tried. but I think if you can pull it off definately do it. I had a friend who had super spiky hair that looked like a cross between cloud and tidus and it looked really cool. he did not have it that way on purpose tho!! Lol:p

i'm still working toward a Soubi haircut. my friend AK just got a similar cut (not to purposefully look like Soubi's) because her hair was too long to handle. mine is the same way: too long, too thick to do stuff with. maybe if I get my hair cut like Soubi's I can have the stylist thin out the bottom layers of my hair so it's not super-horse-hair-thick. but, my parents still laugh at the mention of a Soubi cut. I will get one before school starts!! :D

I've gone into a salon on several occasions with a picture of an anime character saying "cut like that!!" I've done Lucifer and Marluxia and yet I always seem to come out with the same hair cut O.o My mother is also a hairstylist which is very helpful because I do not understand the dynamics of hairgel... I really don't!

Though I wonder if I should take the plunge into getting a hairdo like Siegfried's second costume in Soul Calibur III because it is so short and my hair doesn't grow fast.

Since I've been watching Negima?! I've been seeing lots of hair cuts I want.
