Yes, and yes ;) . Actually, I have friends and family all over the place. I like using it with IM, to keep in touch with them. Nevermind the fun pics sent to a certain someone. :cool:

I hardly ever use mine lol I always just felt a little weird chatting on a web cam.

While that may have been true several years ago, I'd say from experience that most modern webcams have pretty good resolution.

Heck, mine only cost me a tenner and most of the photos of me in the official photos thread where taken with it.
