Right, so I'm sure I'm not the only bassist here. I'm not the only bassist here, am I?

Pfft, well it's better than whatever insturments the rest of you play, so nyah. Even if it's not technically part of the guitar family...

AAAANYWhoooo. Discuss bass here. What guitars d'ya all have? Any preferred strings, amps, etc?

Oh, and should I buy this neat piece of hardware (http://www.soundcontrol.co.uk/mod_1/pages/mod_1.12/pages/mod_1.12.1/pages/mod_1.12.1.1/pages/index.php?sku=1.1.2.2-200-15832)? Been considering an accoustic bass lately for various reasons (the main one being for practising, I admit) and this one certainly looks pretty good.

Oh, and I play a 4-string Stagg bass, black, no fingerboard. I _would_ give more specific details but yaknow. The stagg website's crap for linking to. (¬_¬)

*blink* you can't be the only one here that would rather play a real bass or guitar than play Guitar Hero III :p

In the corner I spy a 4 string Epiphone bass, a Squire Strat, a Fender accoustic, a Fender Telecaster and an electric Epiphone along with an Ibanez and a Fender amp plus some effects pedals that I guess make really cool sounds. All are owned by my significan other, but on occasions I have tried to learn to play them myself...with mixed results.

I used to be a bassist. For about two seconds. :P I've still got the bass though: Fender P-Bass. Good for beginners, but still has a really good sound and all that. I've had some of my musician friends trying to buy it off me ever since I stopped playing. >.>
The amp came with it, but I don't know any specific detail about it (even though its sitting practically right next to me). I'm too lazy to get up and look at it though. :P

*bump*

So here's what my bass looks like. I copied the pic off the stagg website cos my phone's stopped working with my PC and my camera has no batteries etc. Not to mention it's off-camera in most of them vids I'm in. :p

Well when you get told "let us use your vidcam or we'll get a new bassist"...

Umm.. Hello.. I think I'll just pick the first thread soo I do play on a real bass and umm. I have two Gitars. An electro-acustic Keytone (It's just for fun. Don't really have a good sound or anithing but you can play it unplugged. ^^) and the electric one is a Cort EVL-Z4B (I call her Ophelia :P). My first bass was an Ibanez but I didn't liked it enough so I sold it and Bought Ophelia ^^. And.. I think I'm bassist for 2-3 years now. And I use Roto Strings. Ohh yeah and I love 5 stringed basses but I still don't have money to buy one. Soo if the topic is about Basses why don't we talk about Bass guitars? :)

*Bumpage*

So I've now as good as bought an acoustic bass.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v260/Aratos/165299.jpg
Harley Benton HBB30BK acoustic bass guitar with cutaway, spruce top, mahogany neck, back & sides, rosewood 24-fret fretboard, 86cm scale, 40mm saddle width & pickup system with 4-band EQ. Colour: Black

Not the one I originally planned on I admit, but for £115.48 I reckon it's a pretty good deal. I've also got a Digitech BP50PS in the same order, but obviously I don't intend to go plugging my acoustic into that (¬_¬). It's a multieffect bass pedal, for anyone that's wondering. Includes amongst others distortion, delay, wah, fretless, reverb, whammy, phaser... Also has a drumcomp and a chromatic tuner that has most common tunings set in, which is handy.
