Mines a Panasonic SL-SV590 CD player, mine can play MP3 files, 75 hour playback, digital re-master, H-bass (+) and s-bass (+) also has 3D sounds, 20 FM scan memory, it only cost $120 and it has a 60 second anti-shock and a 1 minute anti-shock for mp3 files , very good for only $120

So do you have one? And what kind is it?

Or do you think it is just a waste of money?

I just ran and checked my closet. I found some old casette tapes. I have yet to find the casette player. All books on tape.

Mp3's are too small. Too easy to crush. I'm hard handed, so I break things to easy, AniD, Kaoru...Don't go making any sick jokes about me being hard handed, because thats not the reason. =P

Especially not a flip-phone, that'd be very bad for Red.

I've got an orange iPod Shuffle that I bought last February for the plane ride to my sister's wedding. Don't use it very regularly though.

And I've yet to own one of the fancy mp3 players. Mine's one of those cd/mp3 player thingies, a Philips one. Bought it cheap in and after-christmas clearance about five years ago, has survived hundreds of falls and works like a charm.

I have an old run of the mill ipod nano, I got it for my birthday form the bestest friend in the world. It's one of the smaller ones so it holds about 500 songs.

All my portable casette and cd players have long since died lol.

after my CD player died in may of 2007, a 1998 Panasonic, it was time to add a memory card to my Cell phone and move into the 21st centry.

My portable media player now is my cell phone (the blue LG AX6800), all I had to do was:

1. get a micro SD memory card (1gig is fine for me, might upgrade to the 4gig later).
2. put it into the phone, then take it back out (the phone will add folders to it).
3. put it into the SD adapter and then syinc it to the computer.
4. load up the songs on it that I wanted (drag and drop from the midea folder).
5. put it into the phone and jam out.:D

I do miss my CD player though, it had grate bass and sound for the age of it and out lasted 3 computers I had.

I have an ancient Sony MZ-R30 Minidisc recorder. The battery only just died on me so I need a replacement. It's great because I can record sounds with it then load them into music-making software as well as using it to master onto. I love the controls they are so well thought-out!

>.> I still have CD players and use them frequently. I also still have cassette players but all of my cassettes are either in storage right now or I got rid of them.

And I still have a record player too. Was using it just last night. :]
And if you want really old school, we used to have a Victrola before we gave it to my uncle a few years ago and as far as I know it still gets used.

As for the brands and shizz, I haven't a clue. :P

A Creative:ZEN 30GB, for I am addicted to my music, and will probably need it to block annoying noise out for this school year too.
This is probably the one that has lasted more than 5 months, though, the last one I had survived a 1 second bath in the polluted lake right beside the Jr.High I attended to o.o I were amazed.

Oh and, the current one has survived a few falls and gotten a nasty dent in the bottom-right corner. Buss floor are though floors.

30GB 5th generation iPod. Although I have a PSP which has about 2GBs worth of space, I have no add-ons to keep it powered longer than the time of the battery's normal life span -- a big problem since I listen to music almost all day long.
