Anyone here a fellow Silent Hill fan? (I hear they're making a Silent Hill movie, too...)

I'm a hard-core fan of the series, my favorite is the first one. The movie looks so freaking awsome.

Really? Has a trailer for the movie been released? I haven't seen it if it has.
I really like all the Silent Hill games; it'd have to think about which would be my favorite. Maybe 2, just because Pyramid Head scared the crap outta me.

LOL you with your jejeje.
Anyways, Sensei's right. The trailer is out and I think it focuses on the 1st game and 2nd one.
My favorite would have to be 4 because well... that's the only one I beat T_T
But yes I have played all 4 games and loved all of them. Currently stuck now and haven't played them for awhile but it's still fun for a scare.

Yeah, three is pretty scary, too. I like how it ties into the first game.
How come you got angry at the main character in Silent Hill 2? James too whiny? Lol.

I've finished 1 and 3 but for some reason never finished 2 so I decided to start playing through it again now.
The movie looks really cool and it's got Sean Bean in which is never a bad thing.

03-22-2006, 02:17 PM
Yeah, I wonder if Sean Bean has a major role in this particular movie?

Wooh I don't know. He might. I mean say that this movie is sorely based on the first game. I think it was when the father lost his daughter and he's trying to find him. Except now that he is a she (mother).
Now here comes a sequel that is based off the SECOND game. Where the husband is trying to find the wife. Heh Sean Bean as the leading role of the sequel.

I've never played any of the Silent Hill games. Always wanted to, but for some reason I just never picked one up. lol
I wanna see teh movie though. Maybe it'll be one of the few movies based off a game that's good. XD

well that and theres this one part which just made me wanna rip out my hair at him. the pyramid head looking guy is doing...somthing to one of the other monster while james is in the closet. insted of just sitting their like a good boy and hoping the scary monster goes away he goes and bangs on the closet door. he deserves to die:mad:

I have played all four games so far, and love them ALL. ^^
So, Pyramid Head is in the movie??? Now, I REALLY wanna see it. Is it going to be true to the games?
My personal favorite was the third game. I liked the female protaganist, and in my opinion, it was the scariest one of the bunch. I jumped when the mannequin head screamed, and when Johnny (is that his name?) "jumped" in front of the main character in the fun house.
I think wish house is the scariest and freakiest building in the world of SH. The thought of a bunch of poor little kids turning into "gray lumps" really gives me chills. I kinda liked Walter Sullivan, despite his horrible evilness. And his annoying habit of following you around all the time...
My brother and I called Pyramid Head Metal Head for a long time until we finally found out his name. And those things that strangle you with their feet? Weeeeird. So we thought it make an awesome obscure rock band name: Metal Head and the Feet Stranglers. Man we're retarded!

Haha, Metal Head and the Feet Stranglers!! YEAAAH.
[ahems] Anyway, the mannequin head was possibly the scariest thing that I had ever encountered in Silent Hill. Even though it doesn't harm you in anyway, just the scream itself made me jump. That, and the room filled with disembodied parts of mannequins didn't help the situation.
Pyramid Head just really creeped me out... I never like the idea of something stalking you throughout the game. The fact that I hated entering a new room throughout the whole game in Resident Evil 3 is a testament to that. ("STAAAAARRSSSS....."). I really think Pyramid Head is what made Silent Hill 2 scary to me.

Haha! You know you like the band name Metal Head and the Feet Stranglers!!!! BWAHAHAHA! Then again, I am known for my... freakish geekiness. My youngest brother doesn't even wanna be seen walking down the street with me, because he says I "permeate geekiness." What? I can't wear glasses and talk about Silent Hill while screaming animatedly and flinging my arms around????
But, I am looking forward to the SH movie! Okay, I have very little expextations for it, being a movie based on a game, but I am excited, too. I mean, it's a movie based on a SCARY game, so its gotta be better than stuff with lots of backstory. If they just treat it like the game, only without the battling it out for yourself, they should do fine. ...I hope. ^^

I'm still sceptical about the movie...
I loved the first game, didn't really get into the second, and I really liked the third game. The forth one I have never played yet =x
It one of my fav game series... although the lack of amo can get annoying at times... but that goes for pretty much any horror game... there just isn't enough bullets. It's mostly my brother that uses up all the bullets too =_= he's such a spaz when he sees something scary.

The only one I've played and beat is the first one. It's easily the scariest game ever. The movie looks awesome and thankfully it will be rated R. I downloaded the trailer atleast a month ago and I saw a new trailer on TV today.
Wondercon '06 footage description: (spoilers)
There is some dialogue between Rose and Dahlia Gillespie. Rose says she has seen Alessa and she asks why Alessa looks exactly like her own daughter Sharon. It was hard to hear the dialogue clearly as it wasn't loud enough and I was sitting toward the back of the room. The entire time the air raid siren is going in the background and people are running up the steps. One of them (a younger woman) stops and shouts something at Dahlia (it was hard to hear) and then the ground and everything around them starts to turn black. Rose runs up the steps and she and Cybil start to enter the school. Dahlia points at the younger woman and as Rose and Cybil enter the school, Pyramid Head makes it to the top of the stairs. He grabs the young woman by the neck, holds her up in the air, with a single pull tears her clothes off. Then he grabs the skin of her chest and twists it and then rips the skin off of her entire body. As Rose and Cybil slam the school doors shut, he throws the skin at them and it splatters against the door, with blood seeping underneath it. There was an effect where some of it splatters on the camera as it splats against the door.
Edit: Pics, don't look if you're squeamish, really young, or have a 56k connection.

Pyramid Head = bloody goodness.
Yet even though I say it's great that Pyramid Head is going to be in the movie, I can't help but wonder exactly why he's there. Pyramid Head was James' crazy thing. Not Alessa's.

I'm head over heels for the Silent Hill series, though.. I have to admit I take breaks while playing them. After about twenty or thirty minutes, my heart threatens to give out if I don't. ; w; I'm such a scaredy-cat, with 1 and 2 causing me so much stress, haha. The sirens in one give me shivers every time and 2? It was so perfectly executed. Example? The courtyard in the prison -- I was so terrified that some horrible horse demon WHO KNOWS WHAT was going to kill me should I venture into the darkness, but no, it served no other purpose than to make your chest explode with worry. >8|
I'm feeling rather skeptical regarding the movie. I want to love it, but I'm being such a stickler. Why is Pyramid Head in it? Why the nurses? The point was that the majority of the monsters in each game carried a significance, they related to the "protagonist" in some way. Are they going to tie the woman in with them or did the director just choose to neglect that aspect? 2 was apparently his favorite in the series, so he wanted to incorporate elements of it into the movie just because he could. Hmmm..

I could go on a rant about why this movie is going to be great but I won't. I'll just say that the director has been a big fan of the game since the first one came out and the game creators are involved in making sure this comes out right. Egad, YES! I only have not played the first Silent Hill, but I've played the others and I think 3 is my favorite. I'm probably one of the most paranoid people ever, and I think that's why these games freak me out so much (I find myself walking around slowly, weapon drawn most of the time >.<). I remember pausing the game for a long time after that mannequin screamed...and all those shadows that came from your shining flashlight was so eerie, too. Don't they have those in the movie? I also liked all the "moving" gross walls in 3, and am so happy to see those are in the movie. And that scene in the hospital mirror where the blood leaks into the room in 3? That was awesome!
But Silent Hill 2...I've never been so afraid of a single element before. It seems worse to know what you're afraid of in the game (Pyramid Head!), but have no idea when he is going to come!
And 4 was amazing because I'd always be so relieved to get back to my room and heal up, but then as the game goes on you can't heal and there's scary things that may or may not be in your room, so I began to dread having to save and did it less and less :p

I heard that 1 and 4 scare people shitless, sheesh<3^^

Haha, I'll be the first one to admit that I usually pause the game or go to the menu automatically when something creeps me out in Silent Hill. I never claimed to be the bravest person out there. :P

I've only beaten Silent Hill 3 and played a demo of 4. I like them, they're so dark and edgy. They scare the crap out of me but I just can't stop playing them lol.
I love the game...beaten 1-3...try 2nd time on the 4th..but never beaten it. It's too scary in the halfway of the game....
I'm looking forward to the movie too

Silent Hill is easily one of my favorite survival horror games. The only one that really scared me was the first one. After you go through the house with the dog house in front, the entire city turns dark and you have to navigate by flashlight. I've beaten all of them except for the The Room because the game has a glitch where you die after getting like one hit, once in a while that is. Anybody else see the dog ending in 2? That was pretty funny. I hear they're making a fifth one that sounds like nightmare creatures 2 or Call of Cthulhu-Dark corners of the earth. You know, where a mental patient has to decipher his back ground from being in Silent Hill. It was a while ago and think it was just a rumor anyway.

I've never heard of this glitch for SH4. I must be out of the loop. Where and when does it occur in the game?

I caused the glitch with outdated software...
