Just got some extremely sad news this morning. Mike Wieringo, artist of FLASH, TELOS, IMPULSE, SPIDER MAN, FANTASTIC FOUR, and creator of IMPULSE, died of a heart attack yesterday at age 44. He will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace, Mike. :( Our hearts and deepest condolences to his friends and family.

Loved his run on Flash a few years back. Definitely will be missed.

Dammit, this sucks.
I loved Ringo's work, especially Tellos.
One of the few artists in comics these days who kept their books fun; he will definitely be missed.

This is really sad news, indeed. I can tell I've been on vacation, as I am missing all of the news from recent days. The world has lost an amazing talent, much too early. :(

I was catching up on all the kind words left by his friends and fellow comickers yesterday. He was a dynamite artist and, from the sound of things, just a great all around person.

Necro'd to share announcement that might interest a few here (http://pwbeat.publishersweekly.com/blog/2008/06/18/mike-wieringo-scholarship-announced/):
The brother of the late Mike Wieringo has started a scholarship to SCAD in Mike’s name — we can’t imagine a better way to remember a wonderful artist and friend to all. A donation table will be set up at this year’s Heroes Con — more details here (http://www.chapelhillcomics.com/content/?p=278).

Rest in peace Mike.
I well forever love his character Impulse. May the Lord be with his family and friends during this hard time.
Edit in: I didn't realize this thread was originaly posted last year. Never the less I still wish his family and freinds the best.
