I guess I'll be the first to post here

Anyone else got this game? Me thinks it r0x0rs!

I've got it. It's kinda fun, though I haven't beaten the main scenario yet. my attention span leaves something to be desired, certainly. I'd hesitate to say that it "r0x0rs" (or any synonym that I myself would use), though. That said, I am quite fond of the end-battle conversations and etc. (Moses' happy dance = win.)

Yeah I got it. Haven't beat the game yet though. Distracted easily by other games. Its great though, I love Namco RPG's.

A video game (an RPG, to be exact) for the Playstation 2.

To sum it up, its an RPG for the PS2, that comes from a series of games Namco created known as the "Tales" series or "Tales of" as it is sometimes called.

i was quite excited about this game but after having read several reviews of it, it seems to have only turned out average scores. i'll probably reserve complete judgement till i've actually played it though, after all, it's part of the "tales" series so it can't be that bad.

Tales is my first "Tales" series game, so I can't really compare it to prior entries of the series, but all in all, not a bad rpg. A bit corny, but then again, I've been an RPG freak for years, so eh, guess EVERYTHING is a bit corny now. At least it doesn't make me break out laughing at certain "dramatic" scenes like a different RPG that came out *cough* Grandia III *cough*.

It's awesome so far, but I'm still really early in the game.
Still trying to rescue Shirley. :p

But I love the character and world design.
It's breath taking. I pre-ordered my copy and got the bonus artbook, and some of the concept art is just gorgeous.
Especially for the environments.

I really like the combat system as well. A big improvement from Symphonia, if you ask me.
I like how the commands operate more like a fighting game than a traditional RPG.

All in all, it's an awesome game. :D

I still say the older Tales games are the best. Go play Tales of Destiny, or better yet, Tales of Destiny 2. They're ps1 games, but they're classic sprite based games. They have that feel of nostaligia and they're really fun and lighthearted. I fell in love with Stahn Aileron the moment i saw him (main character of T.o.D.) Go get those games if you can find em. Ebay has em.

Edit: Tales of Destiny 2, in japan, is known as Tales of Eternia. Cuz they already have a Tales of Destiny 2, which is a direct sequel of ToD1. America just decided to be STUPID once again, and bring it here as ToD2, to try and milk off the first awesome game.

Another Edit: Tales of Phantasia was just released here on GBA, but was ruined yet again by america. The main character is Cless Alvien, well not anymore, america made him into "Cress Albane" and also chaged the character "Klarth" into "Claus". Plus they removed the awesome opening theme, "the dream will not die" by Yukari Yoshida. Now it has this bland Final Fantasy dungeon music as an opening theme. Why can't us people here in america be SMART for once?

ANOTHER Edit: ^_^;;Go download that song, "The dream will not die" Its fun to dance to, and to sing!

I read in the latest issue of OPM that Legendia is an amazing game... but sadly, I haven't played it yet. I've plyed ToE (whic was 'meh' to me, but my sister says the anime is MUCH better) and ToS (a little too... 'Juvenile' I guess would be the word, for me. But I loved how the "The line between good and evil blurs" I thought it made the story very intresting) ...I'm dying to play this game, the Tales battle system is so refreshing^^

It's a great game I haven't finished the main scernario yet but it's so much fun and the characters are so funny, espically when Moses and Jay are bickering.

If you like Namco's RPG's, you'll most likely be very pleased with this game. The other games in this series are (in appx. order):
Tales of Phantasia (SNES, JP)(GBA, US)
Tales of Destiny (PS1)
Tales of Eternity (PS1) (US Tales of Destiny 2) (being rereleased as ToE for PSP with new extras)
Tales of Destiny 2 (PS2) (JP only)
Tales of Symphonia (NGC)
Tales of Legendia (PS2)

I believe there might be one other Tales game, but I'm not sure...

And actually, both ToP and ToE had anime series, and I've heard rumors of a possible series for ToS...

I'm playing Tales of Legendia now, I haven't finished the first scenario yet either but... does anyone besides me think that Senel is really annoying with his "Shirley this, Shirley that, all we have to worry about is Shirley" attitude?

AND DONE!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!! I finished the main story. It was a pretty good storyline, the voice acting wasn't very impressive altho :( there were a few impressive VA who just seemed to not give it their all for these characters. I never learned to like Shirley and Senel never ceased to annoy me. ^^ BUT it was still really cute, and the story was complete which was nice as Tales games always give me a feel that something else could have been said or done. So now on to character quest! I just started and so far so good, I like how it's like a "Where are they now" feel... I'll report back when I'm done, altho I'll probably take my time going thru this *not playing everyday for hours like with the main story* cause I still have other games to complete the main story for. ^^

i finished that game with almost 80 hours...or was it 70...i don't know but it was around 30 hours each.

I had pre-ordered it and man it took me 4 weekends o_o cos that's really the only times i could play it xD

I LOVE the battle system, but the story...the story was okay but that first part was super short and the second part just seemed to DRAG.

there is A LOT more dialogue and i think that's why there were hardly any voice acting. The voice actors would get hoarse o_o; I liked how there were new and more anime sequences, so that made up for all of the stuff. Wish there were more and they were longer, though.

Tip: on the final boss, DON'T DIE UNLESS YOU WANT TO WATCH 15 MINUTES OF CUTSCENE ALL OVER AGAIN.

Thank the LORD that didn't happen to me. I would have cried if I had died. Good thing that despite my lower-than-suggested leveled characters at least had all their skills and that Senel had that throw.

THROWS ARE IMPORTANT IN BOSS FIGHTS

Though i would think people should be done by now..xD

*currently playing KH2 and Grandia III*

Edit:

Oh, and the older games ARE better, though I did like Symphonia :3

and...I WANT TALES OF ABYSS AKJFLKDSJF

okay *waddles away*
